I went to HD tonight to get a new razor scraper and some dowels. Ended up leaving with. They were clearing the Ridgid sander for $150.00 and the Milwaukee tapes were an extra impulse buy someone had left by the register.

Nice score. I like that sander!! Did you at least end up remembering the dowels and scraper!! Haha

Put in a therapy order myself on Amazon. A few locking c-clamps, drywall rasp, driver bits, automatic center punch, socket adaper set.
Oh and a side order of buyers remorse. No matter how much I need a tool I always hate parting with the greenbacks.
Heck of a deal on the Grr-ripper. Nice buy MM.
thanks man – i saw the clearance tag on it and yeah….my hand went straight towards the target

I had already bought the dowels and scraper and was in the parking lot in my truck when I said “What am I crazy passing on this for $150 this is on my list.”. I got out and went back in and bought it and the Milwaukee tape measures, they were just sitting there by themselves looking lonely.
nice but MM Mayby I gotta do that today it’s been awhile since I’ve stopped by HDmadman_us wrote:

you cant just leave a lonely tape measure sitting there!! that would be inhumane 🙂
Nice score madman! you will like the GRR-Ripper did they happen to have a second one? while not necessary, they work awesome in pairs.. this way you leap frog them along the cut and you never have to stop feeding the piece through the tool with helps eliminate blade marks..

ill get a picture together of all the free stuff i scored

great stuff, the milwaukee stapler is pretty cool…im going get one too

im diggin it.. i have wanted a good stapler for a while now and when this one came out i knew i wanted it.. i have had a few of this style staplers in the past and they are still floating around somewhere but i never really liked them and one of them didnt take a standard t-50 staple that all my other hammer tackers and other staplers take which made it a pain to find staples for it.. I got to use this last wednesday installing a bunch of insulation for a customer and gotta say i was really digging it! It worked very well
Bigmikez wrote:

no you cant!! free tools are great 🙂 the prybar is pretty damn sexy i must admit! its a little bit of a splurge but it is super light so i dont mind carrying it around in my every day tool bag (i didnt used to keep my big steel on in there in an effort to keep the weight down) its got a few nice features, has a great feel in the hand and it really rounds off my stiletto set nicely..
here is a picture of all my free goodies from the show (minus the prybar, that baby was already in my tool bag when i took this picture!!)
the drill bits in the gray pack, to the left of the milwaukee stuff are a 4 pack of Bad dog multipurpose carbide bits.. im pretty excited to give these a try.. it was incredible what they put them through at the show and after talking with the guy long enough about them he threw me this pack to try out. https://www.baddogtools.com/tools/tools/multipurposedrillbits.html
also if you can see to the right, on the festool shop apron, there is a super long jigsaw blade, its the 10″ T1044DP i never new they made a blade that long and one of the bosch guys was cool enough to toss me one of the blades they had for demo to try out http://www.boschtools.com/Products/Accessories/Pages/BoschAccessoryDetail.aspx?pid=T1044DP#specs
bunch of shirts, hats, a ton of loctite premium and powergrab and even vouchers to mail in for another free case of each of them!! also a few of the lenox arc reciprocating saw blades.. overall i thought it was a pretty good haul 🙂

is the trigger easy to use? my current one is so tough to use. does HD has this one in store?

wow thats a bunch of stuff John – you definitely scored at the exhibition 😛
i wanna know if the 10″ blade has any deflection because its soo long
madman_us wrote:

yeah, its not bad at all… its got 2 modes.. one for extra power but i find the low mode to be sufficient for most stuff
the Hd’s around me stock it.. not sure about out your way

i was able to make some test cuts with the one they had on their saw at the show and i was amazed with how perpendicular the cut was.. not much deflection at all on straight cuts, definitely not as much as i expected… i did get some deflection out of it while cutting a curve but i wasnt really taking my time either.

yeah i can imagine that there is a deflection while doing a curve…but it also depends on what kinda saw you use.
Wow John that’s a ton of SWAG! I would have died a happy man after getting all that. I am happy with getting a bunch of brochures from companies lol.

yeah, im not gonna argue that… lugging all this home on a plane would have been a nightmare.. never mind that fact that you would have had to pay to check most of it..
do you still have your exhibit hall badge ?? PM me if you do

haha! its definitely a perk of going to these shows.. it helps offset the cost of the weekend a little anyway. a lot of this stuff is things i would need to buy during the course of a year anyway…

your right about the saw.. anything with the carbide blade guidance feature like many of the bosch saws and carvex have will help out a lot.
Next year darn it. Next year. And I’ll probably drive. That’s gonna be a long drive! I figure I could do it in a day. I was talking to my wife about it a half hour ago while walking my buddy and she said she wants to start an account for saving for it. And I imagine Leigh Nielsen too John!

definitely Lie-neilsen!! Providence isnt too far from you, only a few hours isnt it?? quit your whining 🙂 you planning on staying the night or going back the same day? if you can swing it you really need to stay the one night, that way you can come out at night and then go to the JLC show the next day. hotel rooms are usually in the $150 range for the night but its well worth it..

John is so right. You can not put a price on that kind of fun. Next year I’m thinking about staying to Saturday.

hell yeah!!
Yeah, I’ll be staying a night! And your right, it really isn’t too bad of a drive, I mean except the part that I have to drive through Mass! I’ll wear a helmet and a rising sun neckerchief and speed up to a 100+ screaming……”BANZAIIIIIIIIIIIIIII”

HAHA! yeah, im sure its not original but down here in CT we call those crazy MA drivers mass-holes!
I know you have a get out of jail free card but us “non upholders of the law” have to set that cruze control very carefully while driving through mass, those staties love giving tickets to out of state plates
Whooooooo? Meeeeeeeee?

Yeah you, you lucky bastard!!! Hahahaha
Nah no luck there dude. Nothing but a glorified burger flipper but I get to drive fast 😉
Picked up this little gem to inspect the woodpecker holes on my house. It worked awesome. Now I have to find more uses for it, not that I want MORE projects!
great camera….such a tool comes in handy
Nice camera.. did you find any birdies yet?
one around the house use for it is next time you think you lost something under the couch, stove or fridge just sweep the camera under there first to have a look.. the long neck can double as a retrieval tool also.. bend a little hook or L into the camera neck and use it to pull the item out!!
Gotta chuck for my Rikon today plus a 20 BF hardwood pack from Bell Forest! Bring on the projects!

No bird, no eggs, no problem. I put up a temp piece of wood over the holes until I can do a proper patch.
Thanks Regopit, just watched one the videos off of the link you provided!regopit wrote:

$99. I wanted to shop around some more, but had to get this project done. In the end I say $99 is a very good price for it. I have only used it once now so I cannot give a full review but initial impressions are awesome.
very cool man I’ve been also eyeing that one for a couple months now I might go and check it out2marrow. Thanks!!Poisonfangs85 wrote:
