Powered by You

Tools In Action has been putting tools to work on camera since 2003, and readers have been part of it the whole way. Your questions, forum threads, comments and reviews help decide what we test, what we write about and what we ask the brands. That is what we mean by Powered by You the Consumer.

The Forum and Consumer’s Take

For years, the Tools In Action forum was where owners compared notes, asked for help and reported how their tools held up. That conversation is preserved in the FAQ/Forum Archive: 16,213 archived topics across 40 forums, searchable by question and tool category.

Our new Consumer’s Take category turns that real-world experience into articles. Each one is based on a TIA Member’s own experience with tools and equipment. The first is Ego Is Not Perfect: A TIA Member’s 5-Year (Mostly Commercial) Ego Experience.

Reviews by You

Reviews by You is our program for short video reviews filmed by viewers: real tools, put to work on camera by real people. Its motto is Skip the grind, speak your mind! Uploads are not open yet. When they are, every video will be reviewed by our team before it goes live. Until then, the Reviews by You page and the Creator Guide explain how to film a short, honest review.
