30″ and sixty mile an hour winds all day. I just got off duty….I said duty…..and have to snow blow again. Another 6″ fell last night into early morning. Nothing like working all day the snow blowing all afternoon!
Wow that’s crazy
I just finished snow blowing. Man ah man I’m beat. To be honest, this was a pretty good storm. I thought they would over predict. They said 1-2′ but when last I checked 30″ is a little more than that! But is was brutally cold yesterday and today so the snow was fluffy and not the normal cement from Heaven we get.
crazy man but now U can go in the shop kick back and drink a beer and look at those cool lights U put up bro!ChrisK1970 wrote:

Ah fluffy snow is so nice I would take a foot of that compared to 4 inches of slush.
We got lucky, everyone around us got a shit load of snow, but not us. But r temps had dropped to -10, so I think that’s why we didn’t see any.
30+ inches of snow? I would go to basement and stay there until mid May…….lights look awesome…….good job…
65-70 during the day, night drop down to 40-45 😛
Thanks Comp. As far as the base, met, can’t see out the windows anymore. And we’re due for 6-8 tomorrow and possibly another one Monday. This sucks. I was like….man! The 24th and my roof is clear….yee-ha! Not any more. Day three of snow blowing. Day three. Got the whole back yard and like you my best buddy is a little short of stature so it’s important that I clear a path for him. I snow blowed then cleaned the roof today and got my neighbors driveway again, trying to widen it.
Oh and it’s pretty warm out right now, maybe 20 degrees. This morning….no wind, air temp -16. Monday is supposed to get ultra cold again. Still…beats Gods Waiting room – Florida.
like the setup. Those festool’s look great and like the freud lighted banner- Good job Chris
Thanks Javier! It’s getting there! I am getting some more dine tomorrow night
Looking good Chris. Keep up the good work
Thanks Regopit! Means a lot coming from you dude!

I’m no different than anybody else.I just like to see people doing what they enjoy what they are doing.
All in all a good day in the shop. Got one of the Freud lights hard wired and installed a pull switch. Cleaned up a bunch. Got a bunch of my project wood stacked and moved my Dewalt tool box onto one of my work tables. That was, and most of you know my aversion to spelling out swears but this deserves it…a truly horrible bitch. I am probably going to hard wire in the second light Freud light tomorrow and then place the third over my Kapex. I got my new Rolair (thanks Dan and Eric) up off the ground and Samantha came down and organized my Systainers after yesterday’s daring feat, into some neat piles on the mobile bases. I’ll take some photos tomorrow. Still a disaster but it’s getting a lot better!
its coming along man 😛
Oh and I hung my 1776 replica American Battle Flag in the shop!
So I started to work in the shop again when Samantha asked me to modify some of the sixty year old pine knotty boards we are re finishing. When we tore out the old closet I had her save several boards. Ends up the guy who hung this wood didn’t exactly do a great job and must’ve ran out of the chair rail he was using so her took some of the bead board and used that. 3/4″ wider than the chair rail everywhere else for about 16′. I got to use my Kapex and DW745 to heavily modify some of the scrap pieces we kept by trimming the bead part of the knotty board and making it dimensional. All in all it came out pretty darn good in my opinion. All I got to do to the shop is clean the sawdust and cut the plug off of my second light to hardwire it. I drilled out a hole for the pull switch and wired that in. Next a junction to then next light and then I’ll have two of these guys going 😉
Sounds like you got a lot going on!! Can’t wait to see it all wrapped up (although it will likely never be done, a shop is always under constant improvement)
Very cool Chris sounds like U were busy today bro enjoy using all them cool tools!
Wow u have been busy Chris, almost time for a beer.
So I got two of the three Freud lights up. Got my Dewalt tool box full of woodworking tools and am going to try to post a couple of pics tomorrow, pretty stoked, this is a really rewarding project and it’s starting to come together in a really great way. I’ll have to get a mini frgi to keep some cold ones down there too. You know..,Sam Adams and power tools…,a recipe for design.
Really cool to hear bro!! A mini fridge will be a nice addition to UR new show man I just saw a cool monster drink one CList the other day for cheap one of those would be pretty cool.
My new Jet 31″ clamps finally arrived. I ordered them on Black Friday! Now I have to make me another clamp rack 🙂
ya you definitely run out of space 😛
cant have enough clamps
Very nice bro I’m probibly steal that idea for the clamps man if u don’t mind and that light is awesome lookin Chris!
How do you like the jet clamps? I have a couple irwins, need to expand and those look nice. Very jealous of that Freud light, that thing is awesome!
you can find that clamp rack all over youtube mike 😛 even with free plans

Piece of cake Mike, I didnt use plans, I have seen some on line so I took my old router table mount (I have enough for two more with that piece of 3/4″ ply and started chipping I slots 1″w x 6″d. I then pocket screwed a backer board and made the shelf supports with square pieces glued and screwed via pocket holes for support. Fun and easy. No plans necessary! I’ll probably do another Saturday after I move my friend Christina into her new house. If….IF….my wife lets me leave the master bed remodel and work on my darn shop!

On that rack I have the Bessey K Body Revo Jr., Bessy K Body Revos, Dewalt XL Clamps (awesome by the way) and six jet clamps. Love them all but the Jets are really slick. Super smooth, heavy duty (they all are) and have built in rulers on the bars. Pricey but really really good I love the K Body Revos too….awesome stuff
Looking good Chris. Filling up quick.
Thanks Chad, it’s getting there. I keep getting diverted to the remodel but hopefully Saturday I can play around down there and get things organized.
Sorry for the lack of posts recently guys. Samantha and I are working hard on a master bedroom remodel and I’ve been slowly chugging away at my shop. It’s still not done but I’m optimistic that it’ll be done sooner than later. I’ve got an electrician coming in to add a panel for me and wire in some more stuff in the house but I’ll have several outlets that I will wire in once the junction box is placed Monday. One more shop light to install. I hope you like it thus far.
great chris, kinda looks like my garage in progress 😀 just a freaking mess haha
starting to look like a shop Chris, not to worry you will re-arrange more times than you can bare to get it the way you want….
I think shops are always works in progress. As you work in them you find ways to be more efficient or ways to re-arrange things to better suit your needs. The place is looking great Chris!
Thanks sir! I just love the before and thus far. Blows my mind seeing it like that. I built a small access door out of pine knotty last night. I could see, there was room to glue and assemble. It was warm. I had a Sam Adams 🙂
Plus I’m loving that Dewalt box. My Woodpeckers tools have a nice home just for them
Looks killer man! So much better doing an in home remodel when the shop is up and running.
Thanks PF. It’s a workout and it’s been frustrating as heck but now I’ve got a layout area and can cut away. Plus it’s lit!

dont tell me that man haha.
my wife is bugging me since month about her closet, when i gonna start that project.
im telling her everything, before i start that project…i want the garage/shop done that i can work quicker and easier and not moving stuff from a to b.
Wow Chris lookin good bro and I like how the handle look so original on that nice ass Dewalt tool box man and the stickers really make look much more cooler also, you’ve come quite aways man from where u started and when ur all done it’s cool that UR gonna look back at all these pics and c what u built man. Very nice!!
Thanks Mike. I love looking at like the third pic and the last two. My electrician is in next week, I’ll have a second panel and a junction so I can wire in all my outlets next week. The other light and I’ll be in business. I’ll post some pics of the grizzly set up too. I’m going to build one more wall around two sides of my furnace this spring too.
Nice looking shop Chris. My shop is the back yard whenever winter decides that it’s done. Where are you planning to put the other light up at? I’m guessing right above where the Kapex is sitting?
Thanks Bryan, yup I’m thinking over the KAPEX or opposite it in line with the other one but I will probably for over the saw and planer area.
