chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Here u go Chris

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that’s freakin awesome Chad! I was out on storm patrol today pulling wrecks out of the woods and helping people back onto the road. It was COLD! I think yeah….Florida…,hmmmmm. Might not be SO bad 😉

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Yep, it’s been minus 20’s, I’m thinking Florida might not be so bad myself.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

I don’t even want to think how cold that is Chad. It was two below this week here. Florida doesn’t sound too bad now.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

It’s not so bad Nicholas…..;)

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

When the wind stops and its that cold I call it dead cold. Everything freezes. You can’t warm up, it gets in your bones. Then when the wind kicks in its just pure hell. Yesterday I was at a crash in the morning. It was -8. I was on scene for about an hour. I cleared the call and was going over Parker Mountain and it dropped to -13. No wind. I got out of the car and immediately started shaking. It felt much colder than the -8! The coldest I’ve seen is -26 without wind chill. Those poor guys in the lakes, NY, Il, Mi, WI…..screw that!

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

This is the coldest I have seen it. Last year the lowest temperature was zero degrees. The wind chill was in the -30s though so that was brutal. It is supposed to be in the upper 30s next week though.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

It warmed up today and was consistently in the 15-20 mark so it wasn’t too bad. Funny how quick you acclimate to the temp. I took my pal Rufus out for a quick walk a couple of hours ago and ended up carrying him home. That fine powder snow gets in their paws and freezes and he can’t walk. My neighbor got a kick out of that sight

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

wow guys i couldn’t even imagine it being that cold out here I was bitching last week and the lowest it got was like high 20’s in the night time…

heck yea bro in my night job I work in the freezers but I only have to be in there for a couple hours off and on throughout the night the lowest they get is about -6-15 but when deliveries come the doors stay open for awhile and it temp rises pretty quick and plus they supply us with some carhartt jackets and gloves and beanies that work well but still nothing compared to living in the areas U guys are at.
ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Well they are still sold out of the LED lamps at Lowes so last night I bought four more fatigue matS, moved my MFT table opposite my Kapex, framed a small wall for my lumber rack and moved my two lamp fluorescent light over to the “new” shop! I will wire that in today and maybe get a couple of sheets of OSB for the half wall which by the way is NOT 16″ OC! Slowly coming to life over here! I’ll post some more pics soon.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

@chris, don’t let the weather persuade your Florida decision remember the weather changes Florida don’t……

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Hahahahahaha

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

What size is your shop going to be when its done Chris.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Chad I’ll have to take measurements when I get home. It’s basically about half of my basement but a good part of that will be storage for wood and fuel pellets. I actually haven’t laid out the measurements. When I get home I’ll do just that, I’m thinking about 25′ by 20′ ish.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

nice size bro glad to hear everythings coming along  good!

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Thanks Mike! Yeah I’ve got to go to Lowes and get a junction box before I wore that light in. Maybe tomorrow, I got a lot more done yesterday than I anticipated but now I’ve gotta crank it up and find a home for my new Rolair! Thanks Eric and Dan! Thanks Travis!!! Thanks Rolair…Bosch….EGO and Milwaukee! Thanks Klein!!

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

I know ur gonna love that Rolair bro ive been watching reviews on them man they look awesome!

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

That’s an awesome size, my shop is about 10×16. It’s fun hanging things out the windows to get that cut. It’s a long process but it’s so with it in the end or until u move to Florida.

Samuel L.Member since Sep 2014

Am I the only one who sees all the crazy crap that happens in Florida on the news.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

No your not the only one people that live in Florida tend to be special it seems. You hear the strangest stories from that state. Plus like everyone mentioned the bugs and lizards get huge down there. I defiantly want to live somewhere warmer some where that stays in the 30’s to 40’s all winter would be awesome. Once you get in the low teens 20’s and it goes for long stretches it becomes an issue.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Heck Samuel, our local radio show, the Morning Buzz, has a regular crazy Florida crimes segment!

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Florida….where the men are Men! And so are the women….

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Where they sell Velcro gloves at most Dollar Generals……”here sheepy sheepy sheepy….Here sheepy sheepy sheepy….Daddy’s got a sur-prise for yer buttum….!

but don’t they have lieutentant horatio caine to look after that…..

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Chris and comp u guys r hysterical. Funny thing is I’ve heard those same comments about the town I grew up in. Oh the town down the road from me is where they invented the “tooth” brush for that one yellow tooth of theirs.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Couple of more pics from today. I installed one fluorescent light today, as I still can’t get the LED lights as of this time. Framed up a small wall to block out sound from the stairs, and tomorrow I am going to finish the wall, pain and instal my lumber rack. Then I can start building another clamp rack and some shelves. Most importantly one for my new Rolair!!

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Couple of cool things for me was using two tracks for my TS55REQ to make a length wise cut. Found out my “new” track I bought on eBay must’ve been crushed during shipping because one of the track connectors wouldn’t slide in all the way, I did figure a way to make it work though and made a 110″ track. Yeee – freakin’ – hahhhhh, I installed six heavy compression mats and spent the past three hours standing on the concrete. My lower back is killing me. Thankfully there was an escape…..

comp56Member since Sep 2014

awesome pluggin away…pluggin away….

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Lookin good bro looking good!!

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Thanks Mike, I am going to try and get one more light in there, I didn’t take a pic of the fluorescent one but is is near the single bulb light, on more where I am building the wall. That will be a storage rack wall and I will leave the floor clear to rip plywood with my TS. Dedicated space, gotta love it!

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Try not to down to many of those escapes or your will never get done, and u may not have any fingers.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Hahahaha. Thanks Chad for the advice. The limit Chris has is ONE! Otherwise the world will never be able to digest a “Two Beers” Chris!

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

And got the wood racks and wall installed tonight. Then my Ridgid vac caught a smoke. Burnt the motor out. Oh well it was cheap and other than dropping the thing and spilling out a ton and a half of sawdust and cobwebs it’ll go to the dump Saturday. Oh and lesson learned…don’t cut fiber cement board indoors without your DC going. Cough cough cough…..

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

b careful with that dust from the cement boards bro that shit can really mess ya up, so far lookin good chris where did u get that shelving from?

comp56Member since Sep 2014

second pic though me off I was like what? who is holding the level?….then realized the pic is sideways…….

Chris i don’t know if it is me or not but lately the more light the better for me anyway….

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

I got confused too comp lol.

you cant have enough light in a shop. its coming along chris

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

There will be one more light ove the wood rack for a total of three. I just have to get the right sized one that’ll fit in the confines of the duct work. Tha whole are will be for breaking down sheet goods, storing lumber and assembly.

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013
