Nice question. I’ve seen them all, but can only think of the Dewalt 20V! drat.

I can think of the Milwaukee and Makita but not the Dewalt.

haha, if no one elsegets it, we’ll have to combine our powers 😉

Graco uses DeWalt
Southwire uses Milwaukee
Zoomlock by Parker uses Makita. It’s a press tool for our refrigerant fittings.

Was tricky to find the zoomlock press tool but I found it which means your correct and your turn

for Makita you could also say Greenlee. I saw their cable cutters and crimpers use Makita batteries.

dwainMember since Aug 2013

MAC (and re-branded Sidchrome in Aus) also use Dewalt batteries.

BMack37Member since Sep 2015

MAC’s Dewalt batteries are a lot better designed than the Dewalt batteries too haha.

TugMember since May 2017

How does this work? Are they under licence to use the batteries configuration?

Of course I’m correct lol. It’s a specialty tool but I’ve used it so I should know haha.. also the Zoomlock tool is made by Klauke in Germany, which is owned by Greenlee!

Yes. It’s cheaper for them than designing and branding their own battery, and they know it’s a wasted cost because no one wants to get into a battery platform for one tool.

Ok here’s one:

What type of sensor does Metabo put in their dust extractor hose end that when connected to any brand cordless tool, will automatically turn on the extractor?

Who invented the first lightweight, portable, one-handed electric drill? And when?

Bonus points if you can name who acquired it!

Is this referring to cordless? If corded, then Milwaukee in the 1920’s, I think 1924.

I literally read this last night when reading an article comparing Dewalt and Milwaukee.

Or, I could have got things mixed up, I only had 1 hour sleep last night because the baby is sick (hence reading a ton of articles through the night :-\).

In 1924, A.H. Peterson developed the Hole-Shooter, a lightweight, portable drill that a user could operate with one hand. After fire destroyed Peterson’s facility, Milwaukee Electric Tool Co. acquired the product.

Ahh, close, that’s where I got mixed up. It’s lucky I even remembered Milwaukee was somewhere in the loop considering it was 4am when I read it.

Here’s an easy one… maybe

What tool did Dewalt make and was known for at the early stages of their company?

I’ll give you a hint it wasn’t yellow and black…

Radial arm saw? At least that’s what I think of when I think of old Dewalt tools. They were grey too!

It’s kinda like the tool connect adapter but its function is different and it has a screen. It is a Hilti product. Part of their connected products. I think it has something to do with determining anchors and fasteners.

Lowes sells the 8v stuff if I remember correctly.

To help in picking a winner, people need to put their WHOLE list. Not just say the one extra thing that no one else has said so far ;):P

They are available and they also call the headlamp as a 4v tool but that’s just stupid so I didn’t include it.

BMack37Member since Sep 2015

Ryobi had the NiCad circular saw right, their lithium batteries are reverse compatible so that’s my guess.
