Which m12? The fuel is metal and the brushed hammer is metal, is it the 2403 or something like that? I’m sure the 18v 260x is plastic, maybe the Brushless non-fuel… hmmm
I’m including m12, m18, and m28
I thought for sure I remember Paul saying the Milwaukee one key drill does that. ..JimboS1ice wrote:

I’m counting any cordless tool that makes a hole in a drill like fashion. Whether it be in wood, metal, masonry.
Also there is more than 0
but you did say ‘chuck’, which naturally excludes rotary hammers and drivers etc.

Actually they have chucks as well just not a jaw style chucks.

That’s why I wanted to clarify. Most people say that drivers have a ‘bit holder’ rather than a chuck. SDS is probably called a chuck by a lot of people.
Give it another 12-24 hours. If no one gets the answer, ask another 🙂
well I guess I will ask a different question.
The answer to the other question would’ve been 12 if I include the 10 rotary drills and the m18 and m12 right angle drills.
Besides m28 tools what other tools can the m28 battery power?

We have a winner @JimboS1ice
Guess it is your turn again.
How many oil impacts are on the market and name their manufacturer.

4. Ridgid, Milwaukee, Makita, Ryobi
I guess you could say either 4 or 5 depending on if you count gen 1 and gen 2 makitas as 1

yup, your up
Which brand/s, if any, have never had a brushless impact driver?
That’d be Metabo only I believe.

Correct @dwain
It’s a sad thing.
Even budget brands like Stanley FatMax & Ozito have one.
The only other brand I found is Black & Decker (doesn’t count).
Let’s hope Metabo have something spectacular brewing. That along with a brushless recip saw!

I can tell you with certainty that they do have a BL impact driver brewing! 😉
Next question:
Who was the last of the big brands to bring out a cordless drill with metal chuck?
Great news. Thanks for the inside info.
I’ll take an absolute guess at that question. Hitachi?
Ridgid?

Bosch

None of the above. Though i obviously don’t know so much about the American brand Ridgid
Pure guess then… DeWalt ?
Nope, it was Makita. Taking too long.
You have a go kornomaniac.
Which brand was the first to introduce brushless motors for the contractor/tradie ?

When was that?

No idea. I guess in 2005 with their first lxt drill ?
The mxt range didn’t have a metal chuck yet. @dwain probably has an idea then when Bosch/DeWalt/etc… Came with metal chucks ?
Well…. Makita 6010d niczd drill had a metal chuck. And that was in 1978 😛
Im pretty sure some of the other brands didn’t even make cordless drills in 1978 ?
Hmmm, i was thinking much too small. I was presuming (very incorrectly) that the uptake in metal chucks only happened in the Li-Ion age. Pls excuse my ignorance.
As you should all have known (based on the questioner and his profile pic), the first brand to introduce BL motors to the general public was Makita. 2004 I believe….
Ima guess Milwaukee
@dwain not Makita 🙂 they had the first brushless power tools but the first few years only for automobile, airospace and defence industries. They were not available for sale to the public.
@Jronman not Milwaukee 🙂
hmm. I’ll be keen to fact check this korno, but if it wasn’t Makita then it must be Panasonic.
@dwain Panasonic it is ! Makita didn’t introduce brushless motors to the public untill 2008 🙂 Panasonic beat them to it 🙂

Correct Makita fan. You’re up.
Please don’t take this the wrong way, but you didn’t google them did you? I wasn’t expecting model numbers ….

Wow that’s crazy. I seriously doubt they can match those claims!

I doubt it too, plenty of people claim numbers are pumped up by all manufacturers. The industry really needs a proper system in place to actually measure these machines.
