Great answer.
Let’s move on.
@aessu you’re up, ask away.
Which manufacturer has cordless tools that can be used as corded tools with the proper adapter?
Edit: By the manufacturer, not counting 3rd party adapters.
Festool DeWalt greenlee
Ryobi too…
@kornomaniac youre up
Bit of harder one here i think…. Be free to look it up of course if needed 🙂
Makita Model numbers always exist of the type ( DHP481, DTD170, DTW281, etc.. ) + Some characters at the back which show you what batteries, charger, certain features, etc… are present in the tool.
Example: DHP481RTJ
- Tool type DHP481
- ‘ R ‘ means Rapid charger
- ‘ T ‘ means 5 amp batteries
- ‘ J ‘ means MacPac case
Question:
Who can tell me what the following characters at the back of a Makita Model number would mean?
S
U
P
H
E
S = DC18SA Charger
E is a blow molded case, dont know about the rest and dont want to look em up
bonus: P would mean dc18rd twin rapid charger.

That’s 3 correct 🙂
Noone has an idea or wants to take a guess ? 🙂
one for compact battery one for the new 6.0? Maybe the h means hybrid tool or high capacity battery(6.0)
Maybe u indicates subcompact tool.
Nope sorry. H is a rather old one. You’ll find this on more budget tools. U is a brand new one. Makita at stafda this year should give it away !
Sorry for off-topic, but @kornomaniac can you tell whats the difference between E and K designations? I know C is for a metal case.

No K in Belgium I believe sorry :). E is a blow molded case. You have a link to a Makita tool with a K ?

Correct ! ‘ U’ stands for the AWS wireless Bluetooth function 🙂
The missing ‘H ‘ is 3 amp batteries

OK we seem to have stalled. New question:
Which brand has the largest selection of 36V / 40V Max pieces, and how many?
I’m not counting dual/twin 18V tools, and I’m not talking about 4 variations of the same tool (e.g. SDS drill).
Hitachi Multi volt 36v 6 tools
Metabo?
Bosch
