Ever need a manual but you go searching and cannot find it or end up on some scam site that wants your credit card info to get a manual?  Recently I came across ManualsLib.com, finally an awesome resource for every manual ever made!  From toasters to iPhones to table saws this place has it all.  The site is fast and you don’t have to sign up for anything.  This is now one of my favorite new sites.  I searched the word drill and over 1800 manuals came up.  That is a lot of reading!

  1. they don’t have every manual. they do not have one on my skil brand skilsaw that is 65 years old or for a 1986 coleman/powermate generator:(

  2. Jon–Well, the site is limited by what the personnel can come up with or think is reasonably worth the time and effort to research. There probably aren’t too many other Skilsaws from that era still around, so I wouldn’t expect them to make the effort to obtain and download it. In both instances, I would contact the manufacturer directly. Skil and Coleman may have what you need in their archives or can tell you where to find one.

The availability is probably also governed by whether the companies still offer replacement parts or repair manuals. You might locate one in a well-stocked mechanical engineering library at a local college. Part of the equation is our “planned-obsolescence” society, where they’re always trying to sell you the newest version of some product.

Another possibility is garage sales; you may find a repair manual that some retired mechanic has in his possession. Or, you might have to give in and let a local repair shop fix the tool for you, given that they may have the only available parts to fix it.

    Good luck in your search.
