Yeah I started with 18 as well, “I need real tools, not toys”. Turns out the “toys” kick some serious ass. My M12 is almost on par with my M18 collection now.

Same here I was amazed when I discovered how capable the M12 Fuel tools are.

Anyone that calls them toys hasn’t used one.

lol…I’m in the same boat as well. For me, cordless tools are all about portability. The M12’s are very powerful and very portable, I’ve been using them more than my M18’s. Although, its good to know that I can bust out the big gun’s when needed.

MikeyBMember since Dec 2014

I was real close to pulling the trigger on some M12 tools today, I’m currently on the Makita cordless platform, but I’m kind of digging the M12/M18 cordless tool line. I just might have to expand my cordless tool collection very soon….

I’ve been looking for something to get me into the Milwaukee battery platform but can’t decide what voltage to get. I’m thinking about one of their multi tools.

If your looking for daily use and for small to med jobs the M12 is really a great platform to build around…..unless I’m drilling into concrete or doing some heavy duty stuff where the 18 volters are needed I find the M12’s geting it done with out issue…..as always YMMV.

I have both multi tools. I like the 2626 m18 better. You don’t need a wrench to change a blade and It has more power.

I qas thinking about the 18v too since I already have a pretty solid 12v Bosch setup I could go with Milwaukee for my 18v needs. I like the tool less blade changing too.

When the M12 toothbrush comes out that’s when I’m buying into the M12 platform.

B&D??

Yep. Many mornings of my childhood involved bread or frozen waffles coming out of a B&D. Wasn’t cordless though.

That’s a tough one I’ll be honest Milwaukee’s strength isn’t in OMT’s. The M12 is nice because its small with a compact battery, but the blade change isn’t tool less. The M18 is bigger but does have a tool less blade change but it’s less featured than the competition its not brush less either

Love the m12 line from my drills to to my ratchet and especially my fuel 3/8 wrench love that baby!! But today guys my hackzall stopped working when I was cutting some branches now mind u that I found this hackzall in a auction car at the shop and my boss let me keep it I’ve used it a lot for almost everything but today it started doing a loud sqeeking sound and then just stopped working all together and I smelt some amoke out of it 🙁 do u guys think it’s just the brushes mayby?

Does it make any noise when you press the trigger?? Open her up and take a peak inside if anything is in two pieces just change that part

DR99Member since Nov 2012

You could see if it still has its 5 year warranty left by plugging in the serial number.

. Yes it makes like a screeching sound and then it stops and doesn’t do anything I’m gonna check the serial number like Jason said first and if it’s under-warranty that will be nice! If not I’ll be taking it apart to see if anything looks funny in there Thanks guys! I use that tool for everything it’s so small and convent to use.

I wasn’t sure how their multi tools stacked up. I was also looking at the corded Bosch and Fein. Sounds like I may wait and find something else to get me into the 18v Mikwaukee line. Right now the OMT is the only tool I have a real need for. Thanks for the info Jason.

When I work with my buddy I just grab his since its out already, its old and beat up but seems to work. The fuel one is probably much better, I will ask him next time I see him if he has had any problems and how he likes it. There is only a small handful of guys using Milwaukee here and he only has a few m18 tools.

I have the brushed bro and I’m not gonna say it’s the best cus from what I hear the fuel is the shiznit! For a DIY guy like me it’s been good But mine currently took a crap and am looking at getting another one right now HD is having a buy a kit and get a free tool deal I’m thinking about picking up the hackzall with stick light that I’ve been wanting for $129 I think the fuel with light is $199 but I gotta check funds first…
JerryNYMember since Jun 2015

The regular m12 Hackzall is a handy little tool that works great in tight spaces, I love mine, but I think the m12 fuel Hackzall is the best all around combo of compact size, utility and power. The m18 is handy too but definitely more bulky and if you’re needing bigger a full sized sawzall might be in order. I think the best combo would be a fuel m12 Hackzall and a full sized sawzall for the big stuff…

Sorry to hear that. I would have to take it apart and see what was going on inside.

Seeing people post pictures of their red tools has made me feel not so bad for have the addiction. so i rounded up most of my Milwaukee tools, didn’t drag my hand tools out and forgot to grab my fuel hammer drill( I think the number is 2406).

Awesome collection Duckie, how do you like the fuel bandsaw? Same question with regards to the m12 lantern and m18 flood (been eyeing up that octagon beast)

Duckie155Member since Jul 2015

the fuel bandsaw is a beast. i cut thick strut or super strut which ever you prefer to call it, and it goes through it like butter. Also does wonders going through angle iron, trimmed a few light pole with it. milwaukee says it cuts faster than the corded bandsaws, and they dont lie about that. it cuts a couple seconds faster, but still faster. My only complaint is the dammed thing weighs a ton but that wieght alot helps it cut a bit quicker.

the m12 lantern is handy for lighting small areas like attics or small rooms, also awesome having the usb port for charging your phone.

the m18 flood is crazy bright, and it has numerous options for hanging which is great. With a 4.0 battery it will last about 4 hours or so and high, also stays pretty cool.

i had picked it up just this last week becuase HD had a sale on em for 89$.

BremonMember since Dec 2014

Nice, that bandsaw seems like a real beauty. I have the M12 lantern as well and prefer the M18 but the little one is definitely growing on me. I may have to pick up the M18 flood soon, $120 Canadian everywhere I see it though.
