The saw? Or the tape?
Sweet Jimbo thanks for posting that, just in case anyone hasn’t seen it, the tape measures aren’t available in the States
I myself was never a fan of the wider tapes like the fatmax so I’m not exactly affected
The Tapes! I only use fat tapes, bummer tho that it won’t be coming here
I feel like milwakee has read my mind with the release of the mid torque impact, the die grinder, and now this metal saw. Does anyone have any experience with the m18 brushed metal circ. saw. We use the crap out of their 8″ corded metal saw cutting 14ga to 3/16 steel. Back in the dewalt 18v days we bought one of these cordless metal circ. saws but it just didn’t have the power and runtime. I’ve always been interested in the current m18 metal circ saw and said if it ever came out in the fuel I’d have to give it another try. I actually thought it would be best in a flexvolt package but who knows when or if that’ll ever happen.

theres a 20v max version. Not sure how it compares to the 18v or the corded.

None of them will compare to the 8″ corded, it’s a pretty bad*** saw. The 18v we have I think was designed more for cutting like roofing tin. It would do 12ga sheet steel but it worked it pretty hard and we never really used it. That being said I know power tools have come a long ways the last 10-15 years. Even if it’s not a complete replacement for the corded saw if it were somewhere in between that and the old 18v I would have a lot of use for it.
I was looking forward to this Milwaukee announcement and then I find out it’s tape measures that won’t be available in the US and question why all the Instagram accounts were asked to help announce it. I didn’t even find out about the far more interesting M18 Fuel Metal Cutting Circular Saw until several hours later. I don’t know what all the fuss is about with tape measures. The sockets, and the hammers were different, not sure why Milwaukee is working towards having 100 different tapes.

Same exact train of though went through my head, stupid how they announced the day before there was going to be a new release the following day, only to be tape measures…
But the new hammers look promising!!

Hmm interesting…
The Nilfisk Attix 33 sells for 640.00 at Acme tools. If that is the price point the Milwaukee will be at I would probably go with a Festool vac unless it has killer reviews.

If the Milwaukee version of the Nilfisk does HEPA and auto clean at the same time, it has the Festool beat on at least that feature.
So the auto clean is a new feature that Festool does not have?
Some of the new Festools are Autoclean.
I run a mini cyclone on my Festool CT and the bag never gets anything in it. Only downside is that I cant use the top as a systainer holder.

My guess is it’s a more of an economy model than that model you looked at, so Milwaukee can get down to a decent price point to sell to a larger market…

The standard CT36 is HEPA compliant but does not have auto-clean. The Festool CT36 AC has autoclean, but is not HEPA compliant. I’ve read that you can replace the standard filter on the CT36 AC with the HEPA version to make it HEPA compliant, but then you have to turn off the auto-clean feature or it will destroy the filter.
Isn’t DeWALT’s a dual filter with Hepa and autoclean?
I think the Midi is too?

This thing looks awesome, super smart idea
picture not showing up. What color is the blade?
Green like Luke’s in Return of the Jedi ?
$200 is too much for the bare tool. If they made it so it folded, I’d consider it at $150. I’d rather have the Eastwood or pretty much any other of the under hood lights over that. I would like one of those as cordless/corded (like some of the other lights) so I could hang it up in the garage as another shop light, then pull it down to use under the hood or as an area light.
I’d agree with Brian, the problem is it’s huge. It’s going to be very specific for full size vehicle work. I got a little excited because I’ve been waiting for Bosch to make a smaller one like Milwaukees compact M12. I could really use it at my job but the big one would interfere with pretty much everything. No maneuverability underneath a truck when your on a creeper.
..
also, its Trueview…. so you know that’s like $100 right there hahah

I like that it has “intelligence” and won’t run the vehicle battery down too far.

Available here for £110. Definitely cheaper to buy an inverter.
Inverters that aren’t modified sine wave weren’t exactly pocket change last time I checked.

I like that they took a solid design and made the accents red. Curious to see where sale prices fall.

I am curious if the DeWalt brackets are interchangeable. Lol
Any idea if the are making M12 surge?
We’ll know in a few hours.

No m12 surge, the hydraulic driver assembly requires a larger size to get decent torque out of it, and it would defeat the purpose of putting a larger head on a m12 impact, so they only have it on the m18
The carry out system looks pretty looks pretty sweet. In one video I saw it said Sept release and 280.00 list price for the 3 box stack. I hope HD will drop the price a bit or they will price themselves out of the market. HD sells the 3 box Ridgid system for 130.00, that is quite the difference.
In my business you can show up on any stage and there are a ton on Ridgid boxes. Carpenters, set dressers, grips, art dept all use them. If Milwaukee sticks to the higher price tag, then I’ll stick with Ridgid boxes.
I have the Milwaukee 46 in chest and I’m kind of disappointed in it. After about 9-10 months of use the drawers are kind of sticking and not sliding straight. I guess its good for a home owner, but not in a commercial setting. I miss my Matco box. I do not see it lasting past the 2 year mark…
280… that’s 375 CAD… that’s more expensive than Systainers, and over twice as expensive as a stack of DS150/300/400 at normal price.

Pricing their storage boxes above systainers is moronic. I love the locking mechanism and the toughness is nice, but I don’t drop cinder blocks on my tools.
Bottom line is that I’m just not going to spend more than 3x the amount that I’d spend on TStaks just because they’re red. At that price point, I’m all in ordering systainers from amazon.co.uk and still ending up with more $$$ in my pocket to buy more tools..
You know how they do, drop the price drastically and throw in a free this or that haha
What I’m looking forward to is the M12 stapler
Once the PackOut this’ and thats start flying I’ll be much more interested lol.
At about 6:27 in he mentions the price. Very nice set up, but I could buy two Ridgid sets and still have money left over.

These storage systems look awesome, however, I will be curious to see how much they will be? I am guessing they are going to break the bank.

At first, maybe, but they always seem to price them ridiculous, then come down on the price as a “special” or promo and it becomes much more viable to more people
If they’re picked up by Home Depot the prices should be competitive. Or at least closer in Canada. If not they will probably be insane. Have to figure out if their rolling bag is worth a go or if I should wait for the bins.

The more I look at the features the more I think the price is reasonable. The bags are a little pricey but the non-clear top boxes look really expensive to produce.
Imagine if they were made in Western Europe or America…price would be astronomical like Pelican. Instead we get to save money on the backs of Israelis like basically every other storage system.
