If you look at the description of the new circ saw it says that the 120 volt adapter is sold separatly. Does that mean it is an adapter that goes into a wall outlet for cordless tools. I started a thread a few weeks ago about that idea!

Damn damn damn

I think I’ll just buy the new bigger battery based on pricePhoto from the original forum

Acme tools $20 off ends today.

Aww man, Spoiler Alert please lol… I am in the market for Cordless Circular Saw

overanalyzeMember since Oct 2011

Looks like waiting to upgrade my tools may pay off!

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

there is MORE, believe me!

as the saying says “tip of the ice mountain”

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

These prices are actually pretty damned agreeable especially compared to waukee. Kudos DeWalt. I wonder if Acme was early on the trigger or DeWalt buggered up the date on the NDA with Acme.

DOES THE DESCRIPTION READ THE SAME TO YOU GUYS I THINK HUGHJASS WAS RIGHT.

also read: “expanded tool connect app” can control it. Going after one key. Maybe I’ll finally get remote control for my radio.

Can you use the new batteries with the current  20v line

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

Yes batteries are equivalent to 6ah 20vmax. All made in china, was hoping for a #worldsfirst American tool lineup

joemontagueMember since May 2016

Well can you use the old 20v batteries  in the new tools

StercorariusMember since Dec 2015

That is the question. DeWalt is taking down IG posts and Acme I’m sure will be soon to follow. I have screenshots of everything so if this thread is deleted just pm me. My guess is the original event date was yesterday but some twat in PR decided, “Hey let’s do it on the first day of summer cuz like new beginning and shit” but legal had already drafted and gotten signed NDAs by all the major retailers with them expiring yesterday.

John GlasseyMember since Jan 2014

I can’t afford this. I’m losing my mind on the thought of a new line of tools. Lol.

The 60v battery is going to be compatible on the existing 20v tools

Yeah but are the 20v batteries  going to be compatible  with the new tools

joemontagueMember since May 2016

This tool thing is getting  expensive

overanalyzeMember since Oct 2011

Backwards compatible is huge!!! Looks like my wallet will be lighter very soon….!!! If they also have a power adapter that would be killer as well. The best of both worlds. I wonder if they will have new cordless dust extractors too…

It looks like the new tools will vary. Radio can run off of either.Photo from the original forumPhoto from the original forumPhoto from the original forumPhoto from the original forumPhoto from the original forum

The saw will only run the new batteries.

Photo from the original forum

The stud drill will only run 60v batteries.

Photo from the original forum

The hammer drill and impact driver are just the 996 and 887 in a kit with the new battery. They are 20v compatible and always will be.

Yeah they are! I bet if the prices were 25% more, people would still pay for them, these are very competitively priced

I wonder if the new 60v battery will up the power slightly on the 20v tools at all ?

overanalyzeMember since Oct 2011

If this is just the tip I can’t wait to see the rest! It would have been nice if the new tools would work off the 20v batts as well just in case you are waiting on the 60v to charge and you just need to make one or two quick cuts. Either way being able to use the batts in the 20v tools is great.

overanalyzeMember since Oct 2011

I just noticed the dust hood on the top of the blade guard on the table saw. That is a nice feature a lot of other saws seem to leave off.

KnarlyCarlMember since Jan 2016

Haha and at Milwaukee’s product event, they were explaining how unnecessary it is to have multiple voltages over just the 18v.

I’m grinning at the ridiculous attempt that was made to keep everything under wraps but now Acme jumped the gun haha

It is kinda funny…like when Apple used to try and keep their new phone a secret and then someone would “leak” images…could be what happened here. If not then the media dept at Dewalt is going haywire right now..lol!!

Hehe yup ?

Also it looks like dewalt couldn’t come up with a design is their own for the stud drill, and copied Milwaukee… maybe.. just saying…

This is the problem with these releases. We get our pee pee slapped if something comes out early unapproved from the manufacturer. Then they release on their own channel, teasers. I totally get that Dewalt has done all of the R&D, they have come out with new products, they have invested I’m sure millions of dollars, they want to pop the news out. I hope Acme didn’t screw up. I can’t imagine they did, I mean Dewalt released info in Europe. It’s hard to figure out what they want us to do here if they release the info. All I can say is I am griping ear to ear. Dewalt doesn’t release their tools regularly but I am certain it’s because of the R&D they put into their products, coming out with proven winners, constantly. I’m stoked about these new tools, I just wish they had a friggin Brad released!!!!!!! Anyways, I’m posting mine up in the for sale section. Daddy needs a new recip!!!!!
