The one thing the performance can be awesome, but if the price is too high it might be a flop. It is funny thing though the brand they compare to the most is Milwaukee Makita and Bosch are not really brought up. Milwaukee must have had a heads up because they mentioned that they can wire in series or parallel on their high demand 9ah pack. I wonder if they are going to do something similar eventually
I wonder if the 40v outdoor lineup is done then.
I know it sucks for the 40v user but it makes sense. Now they can make one battery that will crossover to all the different tools from 20-120v. I am blown away by the miter saw. I needed to buy a bigger miter saw to compliment my smaller one and this makes it a no brainer for me. I will use it with the plug in adapter most of the time but will also have the ability to go cordless. Also did you guys see that the 9ah will be coming out in January?
The only thing is they had some really large AH run time packs with the 40v line. The 60v line is kinda small amp hour wise at 2ah and 3ah on the bigger pack.
Hmm not really sure what to think about this line. Seems interesting but I’m not sold.

The competition will be good for every consumer. Dewalts 9ah will be out in January and then it will be a better comparison. Im partial to Dewalt because I like their miter saws and table saws so much.
its happening!!!

marketing is fun isnt it 😛 makes you wonder when a company needs to make actual webpages to try and slam innovation.

Yeah I wonder if was made months ago to slam them today or if someone made it this morning. If we knew about the tools I assume they knew also. The tool industry probably has James bond spies selling information. At least they didn’t try to slam them before the tools came out.
Companies know its bad business to leak secrets or even plans. http://www.foxnews.com/story/2006/07/06/pepsi-alerted-coca-cola-to-stolen-coke-secrets-offer.html
Is it a bad thing I’m not excited. Too much hype for me

well they are just trying to combat the positive press flexvolt will have… shooting it out prior would have all sorts of legal issues… I am sure theres still some legal stuff going on right now between both…
fact is i want that miter saw. 12 inches baby. power….

thats a good thing for your wallet.
I’m looking forward to dan and Eric putting these to the test , would like to see the circular saw being compared to 20v

I haven’t seen anything on social media yet about new 20V tools. Only the new 60V/120V lines
Man I feel like I’m missing SO much!!! ?????
Yeah I was hoping for some new 20v tools as well.
Milwuakee has been posting a whole bunch of photos on IG and videos on Youtube promoting their 9.0 battery.
Definitely have seen a lot of Milwaukee commercials on YouTube recently but I for one am excited about the new cordless DeWalt platform! I hate cords and love DeWalt so this is a game changer for me
Looks like second half of day is 20v time.
BTW who wants to place bets that Jimbo is the first one to buy a flexvolt tool! Lol
I don’t know what to think yet i am glad i didn’t buy any of the 40v tools seems like such a waste to even put their time and money in the line to then come out with 60v tools. Kinda like their 36v line and the 24v. As far as the amp hour battery i am sure they will have it up to 9 amp hour in no time look how fast the 20v system went from 3 to 4 and now 5&6. Some stuff i really don’t think you need cordless and there just doing it to one up other companies.

I was starting to get worried. I also saw a crimping tool as well.

Yes, this is something they are very good at, I don’t think many relate the word miter or table saw to Milwaukee

These are exciting tools, but I wish they expand the 20V line would like to see a 20v 7 1/4 Brushless circular saw, but I do like the 60v/20v idea this way you don’t have a special 60v battery pack that can only be used on that specific tool like the old 24V and 36V dewalt stuff, still have a 24v Circular saw but no batteries.
About time someone made an AC adapter for these cordless tools, this is great for the DIYer that like the cordless aspect but the tool doesn’t become useless if the batteries die or get discontinued.
It sucks to because when i first seen the leaked photos of the stud and joist drill i said i sure hope they could make one that would run off the 20v battery system now you have to pretty much buy another battery line to use one tool

after seeing that they are not forgetting the 20V lineup, these new 60V and 120V tools are starting to grow on me. Now lets see what other 20V tools they release.

Lol agreed
Yea, which these 60V tools would be compatible with a 20V battery in some capacity even if the power was a little less, but if you have a 20V line up you’ll have several of those batteries and if you have one 60V tool, i.e. circular saw in my case, you’ll have several 20V batteries and 1-2 60V batteries, but hey 20V tools can last nearly all day on one battery maybe the 60V will be just as good if not better but a circular saw usually chews through batteries….I’ll wait for some video proof.
But if I was going to need to invest into another line up I might just go to another brand……using 60V batteries on a 20V tool is nice.
So am I understanding this correctly, they have come out with yet ANOTHER battery platform? This is one of the reasons why I ditched DeWalt to begin with. Others started to settle on one platform while DeWalt was still selling two styles of 18V batteries and tools.
As far as voltage, it means nothing without the amp hours to back it up. Which is why i suspect Milwaukee put out their comparison pictured above.

Yes I want to see a test with the circular saw

I don’t disagree, but at least you can use them on the 20V tools so it’s not a completely new platform, but yes 60V tools will be a new platform….It’s nice to see some bigger badder tools but at the expense of convenience. But honestly think this would make someone look at Milwaukee/Makita a little harder when deciding on a platform
