Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-Ion Starter Drill Kit – P1810

Ryobi has launched a bunch of new power tools which we will be showing off in the near future.  For today, we are showing off the Ryobi P1810 starter drill.  For $60 you get the drill, a charger and a Lithium battery.  A pretty good deal for someone wanting to get started with a power tool drill.  Personally, I think this is a great drill for the homeowner who has a need for a drill, but isn’t going to use it every weekend.  Why spend a $100 on a drill that will sit on the shelf for most of the year?  The good thing about this kit, you get a Lithium battery, so who cares if you only use it once or twice a year.  The Lithium will stay charged and be ready for use the next time you grab your drill.  The best part about this drill is Ryobi offers over 50 tools in their line up.  So when you’re ready to expand, I am pretty sure you can find a tool in their line up.  Plus you already have at least one battery.

Oh by the way, I think they found Bigfoot.

  1. I’ve been a slow convert to Ryobi power tools, mainly I think as they’re not really top end and I give my kit a fair bit of heavy use onsite. But I have to say a friend has the P1810 and I had a go with it a few weeks ago. It’s more sturdy than I was expecting and did a fairly neat job (note this was just a 5 minute trial go). Maybe I’ll convert 🙂

  2. This is great for the person that needs a basic drill, and you can’t go wrong with Ryobi as they can add a bunch of other tools later on as needed. A pro could even use it if they are in an area where tools can walk off the job site easy, or as a beater tool you don’t care about how long it lasts. You can beat it up drop it off ladders roll it in mud, and not feel bad about abusing your good tools. Its also handy for the guy that is always asking to borrow something if it doesn’t get returned your not out of a ton of money either. Cheap tools have their place.

  3. I like my Ryobi stuff, and I have this drill from a multi tool pack. Its… OK.

If you want to buy just a drill, spend a little more and do the 1812 kit. Hammer drill, better batteries, better charger, WAY better drill.
