Klein All Purpose Pliers – Today’s Modern Side Arm – J206-8C

9

Have you ever just picked up a product and it screamed quality right off the bat? Well that is the feeling I get with these Klein pliers.  The first time I saw these was when we went to the Klein factory and had a chance to experience the Klein reputation first hand.  Let me say, it was a blast.  Dan even had a blast, but I think he loved eating the bull balls the best.  One thing we love about Klein is the made in the USA pride.  Klein could very easily be quiet and start shipping certain tools overseas to be made for less and therefore increase their profit margin, but they don’t.  Now I am not saying all the Klein tools are made here, but a great majority of hand tools are made all over the USA.  Okay so let’s get back to the All purpose Pliers model J206-8C part of the Journeyman series.

So what can these pliers do?  Well, let’s ask what can’t they do?   Okay I shouldn’t go that far, but they can do a lot.  They can strip and cut 8-16 AWG solid and 10-18 AWG stranded wire.  Obviously they are a needle nose plier.  They can shear 6-32 and 8-32 and they can also loop.  Did I mention they are tough?  First, the cutting knife is induction-hardened.  Second, the hot-riveted joint ensures smooth action with no wobble handle and last they are forged steel.  What else can you ask for?  How about a spring for assisted opening, well they have that too.

  1. Klein keeps spitting out quality hand tools. I still have my electricians Klein tool belt that I bought many years ago & I have those 10 hand tool starter tools with me today. I have added several throughout the years and I have always associated quality & craftsmanship with this tool brand. At my HD they have a special section dedicated to Klein & I always make my way there to see what’s new. Have been doing this for years, habit I guess, but I also like to see what’s new from Klein. I never know when a new tool will join it’s brothers in that old electricians tool belt. Eric it stinks you only have one. Go & get yourself a starter kit like I did. I don’t see them often (they must sell out), but occasionally they get new shipments. Also, be careful when playing with electricity, man!!! Shocks are a B!t%#. Laters TIA

  2. My Electrical tool bag has mix of every tool brand. I have some Knipex, Klein, Milaukee, and some budget brands like commercial electric from when I didn’t know better and lack of money. They all have their purpose though I don’t mind beating on a cheaper tool to keep my nice tools in good condition!

  3. I have a pair , and love them . I have a small holster that holds them + a pair of Knipex Dikes , and a Kline 11 in 1 + 6 in 1 Stubby . Since I mostly use Wago connectors , I’ve got it covered .

I also have a leather “ass protector ” in my back pocket , If I need them , I carry carry Klien Linesmans and a pair of Knipex Cabras . ( at least Germany is an allie ) .

  4. For Canuck buyers , Westburne/Ruddy Electric has them in Canuckastan . P.S. I also got my 6 in 1 impact drivers there , not to mention spare bits !

    Big shout out !

  5. BTW , buddies , I’m buying a spare pair of the pliers ! Kinda crazy as i’m retired/disabled , not to say I don’t help others from time to time .

  6. Got my spare pair , they are smoother than the original pair , which was very good . Looks like the boys in Texas have their act together .

I guess the Knipex dikes are here to stay , whar with being rated up to 3mm piano wire .

The Klines and the Knipex make an attractive couple .

Quick question , Klein’s new “Klaw” waterpump pliers look a lot like Knipex Cobras , and Alligators . Are they being made in the USA ?
