I purchased a set of Wera screwdrivers a few weeks back from kctoolco. I also purchased a set of insulated Wihas but that is another thread.
My initial impressions of the Weras were that they are very well made. They are made in the Czech republic and designed in Germany.
The handles are unique and take some getting use to, yet not uncomfortable. The black is a hard plastic with the green being a softer material. They do however allow a good grip on the screwdriver. I have used the phillips #2 quite a bit and impressed with the fit of the bit. The Weras boast about their tips being laser etched. This intrigued me and after seeing a review on YouTube of you being able to pull items by just the gripping strength of the driver. While I have not pulled a tool box I have been able to get it to hold near horizontal in many different screws around the house.
Mine also have a hex bolster to allow for added torque with a wrench.
Overall I am very impressed and highly recommend them. They are more expensive than craftsman, kobalt, husky, but cheaper than snap on. Enough rambling, here are the pics. Note the multiple areas with the description of the tool and the product number for easy replacement.
Some German alternatives are Felo, Whitte (HD offers some versions and makers of the Matco brand screwdrivers), and Wiha all within the same price range.

Push the PH2 firmly in the screw head and hold just the screw and let the screwdriver dangle…There are others I can do this to but none that hold as well as Wera. If you initially push it hard enough you can actually swing it side to side dangling from the screw! I like the Felo’s handle more but the Wera tips have me reaching for them more often than I was initially imagining.
Wera’s precision screwdrivers are my favorite, followed by Felo and then Wiha. The shape is designed perfectly for pushing on the top with your palm and twisting with your fingers, very comfortable to use. Felos have a gripper design that allows the same motion comfortably but not as natural as the Weras. Wiha’s are nice but they’re not really grippy and you want that in a small screwdriver also the top is a little loose and wobbly(Haven’t tried the picofinish series which looks like it may be better).
Thanks for the review, there really aren’t many good reviews out there on screwdrivers…everyone just says “*such and such* is the best”, no real reasoning behind why they like them or not. Which actually led me to go on a small screwdriver buying frenzy so I could pick my favorite, haha. You picked well man, the more I use mine the more I like them. Right now I can’t decide which is my favorite between the Weras, Felos or PB Swiss.
Did the smallest slotted screwdriver have the lasertip? On the other set(the one I have) it does not but it appears they sell the smallest with the lasertip by itself…unless all the distributors haven’t realized and just left that feature in the description from the other sizes.
Nice rich, I’ve got that exact set for a little over a year and love them. They are fantastic drivers and I never get can out with them.
I’ve the chisel driver ones with metal cap for striking. I guess the rest of the driver is the same. I also find them great
Nice set there, those are some awesome screw drivers

I have the insulated Wera’s and love them. Anytime I need a screwdriver now, those are the ones I go for. I love the grip shape and they just seem to hold so well in the fasteners. Next on my list are the Wera precision and then a set the same as yours. Thanks for the write-up.

Kruton is dead on about the grip. I was really “Wera-y” yukka yukka yukka about the grips but they are really a joy to hold. Perfect purchase for fingers.
I have pretty big hands and even the smaller drivers seem to be comfortable. Those dang Germans sure make some sweet screwdrivers!

The smallest does have the laser tip.BMack37 wrote:

The chisels are next up for me. I am debating on trying felos or weras though too just because.Turner85 wrote:

I’m not sure if the rest of the driver is the same or not. Not sure if the metal goes all the way through the handle.

Those look nice, I got a dewalt set not long ago and they suck, I think I am going to have to order a set

I have a classic set of craftsman screwdrivers, they’re not bad, once I get my own workbench and tool chest I’ll invest in some higher quality ones

I’m going to agree Mike. You need some Wera’s!

Just as good but with striking cap. Notice the smallest size slotted does not have a striking cap. The 932 S/6 set has a 1/4″ indent in the top for turning with a ratchet, though it does not list this feature on their website.
Those do not have the laser tips which is one of the best features of the screwdriver, in my opinion.
Agreed with bmack. Get the laser tips for everyday driver. If you think you might not like them try one screwdriver then just add it to your collection if you buy more. I want to try the Witte line as well as Felo.
Here is a link to the ones I purchased. They are more I believe for the hex bolster and shaft. They do come with a rack. The packaging is different than what is shown.

Nice set of drivers. I agree wera makes some great screwdrivers, but the handle shape disagrees with me; I’m sure it’s great for a lot of people but just doesn’t work for me. I did just pick up some insulated Felo drivers though and the handle feels great. To each his own I guess.
I’d suggest trying a couple brands before getting a complete set.

I agree with this. They are funky. I would buy a sample driver from different t companies like Wera, witte, Felo, and Wiha, and see what feels the best.jeffmcmillan wrote:

Thanks guys for the feed back I’m gonna put these on my Amazon list 😉
I’m thinking of getting this set. What do you guys think. I’m looking at the $31 set http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0001NQQCM/ref=s9_simh_gw_d0_g328_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=mobile-1&pf_rd_r=0ZK6B8AN52JC5K9ZK7CG&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2068141862&pf_rd_i=mobile&th=0
check the sizes of the drivers (length) and see if they work for you. Same series as mine. No hex bolsters or shafts from the looks of it.NicholasShetley wrote:

Here’s a comparison pic, not shown is my PB Swiss all are PH2:
[External image (i.imgur.com), not copied]
The PB Swiss is very small, it’s the same width of the Felo PH1.
Nicholas, that is the Wera set I have, it’s great but do note that the smallest slotted screwdriver does not have the laser tip. You may want to consider buying an additional screwdriver to fill the extra hole, I’ve been thinking of adding a PH3 with hex bolster. The 7 piece set adds a slotted driver.

I need to get a set also MikeZ I just have so many Screw Drivers 🙁 I would also like to get the Wera joker wrenches .
I won a bid on a Wera ratcheting screwdriver for a great price a few months ago. I still haven’t used the darn thing but all metal inside. I have to get some driver bots for it still

I just ordered the set I was looking at. They should be here on Wednesday. I have never needed to use a wrench in a screwdriver for more torque so I didn’t get that option. If I need more torque I always have an impact driver.
Good choice Nicholas, think you will really like those. I do recommend having one set of screwdrivers with a hex bolster if you work regularly on machine screws, you’re bound to find one over torqued or rusted in place and you need the breaking torque…Impact drivers don’t always work in those applications. If you’re not working with a lot of machine screws, you’ll probably never need it.
One thing I find weird about Wera is how they pronounce it in English. It should be pronounced “Vera” but they(Wera’s official youtube channel) pronounce it like it like an English word. While Wiha is pronounced “Veehah.” Knipex officially uses the German pronunciation also, which is “Kahni-pex.”

Your going to need a Milwaukee box for all your screw drivers and driver bits.

I hardly ever work with machine screws and haven’t ran into a screw that tight yet. I do see where it would be nice to have though. I’m hoping that these screwdrivers fit much tighter and reduce can out than my craftsman screwdrivers.BMack37 wrote:

Amazon isn’t bad, Sears also has them but their pricing isn’t consistent. I bought one of my sets from Sears for $30 now they’re $45. KC Tool is really good also, you can normally find 10% off codes for them too.
It got me! Never had any of the wera stuff. Very intrigued in them now. Got to get the bitcheck one and the kompact ones now. Lol.redmed wrote:
