Since this is pub talk, what’s your beer of choice?

I figured since this is pub talk what better place to talk about brews. So what’s your drink of choice? I’m hooked on the dark stuff right now. There is a small brewery here in indiana called Sun King and they make a Scottish ale called Wee Mac. It’s the cats pajamas!

back in germany: Krombacher, Veltins

here in the states: Sam Adams, sometimes Budweiser, and i really like Bud Light Lime as a refreshment

FazzmanMember since Apr 2014

I’m not much in to beer right now but have drank so many good ones in the past. I love microbrews.. German style ales are some of my favorite.   Im on a hard cider kick right now with the hot weather etc. ACE cidery here in NorCal makes some of the most fantastic ciders ive ever had.

I do have a few Heinekens in the fridge for firework festivities tomorrow.  That sounds like a good one Kruton.  Arrogant Bastard ale is pretty good stuff if you can find it near you. Sam Adams is good, their summer ale is nice on a hot day. There’s an incredible amount of good breweries in California, they do alot of beer fests here in summer.  Back in my military days it was easy to find good beers, been through alot of states.  Budweiser gives me heads aches.

don’t drink especially beer never have probably never will…….coffee on the other hand is another story….

krutonMember since Jun 2015

I just can’t get on the super IPA bandwagon. They might as well just stuff a bunch of hops in a can.

Fazzman I’m with ya on the ciders. We have a small family winery here that makes a pretty good hard cider and I can’t get enough of it.

I’ve never been to Germany but I would like to go visit sometime. My family is from Germany so.maybe I could use that as an excuse to go try the beer!

Not a big drinker at all but Samuel Adams Porch Rocker, Cold Snap and White Christmas. I don’t drink other than that and I do not drink liquor either. Coffee….well let’s just say coffee is my EDC.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

I dot drink as much as I used to mainly cus I spend all extra money Tools 😉 but when I do drink Ille take a corona with lemon and salt, Sam Adams, and I was just introduced into a drink called Redds which are pretty dang good no liqueur or tequila I can’t hang in that stuff

DR99Member since Nov 2012

In the summer you can’t beat a Bells Oberon in Michigan. You need to try one Chrisk. I can’t so really sweet beers anymore I used to like a Hefiwezen now and again it just can’t be too sweet.

n00bMember since Jun 2015

Coors Heavy.

Right now my jam is Leinenkugel’s Grapefruit Shandy. So gooood.

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Gotta love the banquet beer!

Had to surrender the beer due to epilepsy but before I used to love Sam Adams.

I have had a few beers here and there after starting my medications and have noticed I have completely lost the taste for the micro brews and what not. I have had a few Miller Lite’s here and there and I can handle one of those every once in a while.

ShuutrMember since Jun 2015

Ziegen bock in the brew of choice in my fridge

FazzmanMember since Apr 2014

LeinenKugels is good. Shocktop makes a decent lemon shandy too. Redds ive had before but was a bit too sweet for me.

DoofMember since May 2015

Stella for the faint hint of sweet honey taste. Reminds me of my Granddad. He was a beekeeper.

My favorite is Guiness. Next in line is BudWeiser. I don’t drink much beer nowadays. It seems to put me to sleep

I don’t have a favourite really, there’s a craft beer epidemic going on here in Ireland the last couple of years so I find myself trying a different one every time I’m having a few beers at home but when drinking out in pubs it Heineken ice cold

jrsalasMember since Jun 2015

Love the Lost Coast line up of micro brews. Especially the tangerine wheat, and cant go wrong with Sierra Nevada pale ale.

I have had several friends tell me I need to try a beer called “Not Your Grandpa’s Rootbeer”. They say it tastes just like Rootbeer and is delicious. I’m not sure if it is a local thing or not.

Wow, never heard of that. Id be willing to give a shot. I was just a the blews and brews beer fest in Reno Nv and there was killer good beer. All sorts of flavors but didn’t see that one. I’ll keep a close eye next year.

I just checked it out online and the name is actually Not Your Father’s Rootbeer. It is brewed by Small Town Brewery out of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Assuming it’s not an IPA…

The one in my hand, LOL.

I like Coors Original, Widmer Hefeweizen, Pacifico, Dos Equis, and Sam Adams. A local brewpub chain (?) does a Christmas beer called Kris Kringle that is spectacular.

krutonMember since Jun 2015

I figured this was appropriate for a tool forum with all of my fellow wrench turners.

Photo from the original forum

It’s called Busted Knuckle from a brewery here in Indiana. Great beer, but better on tap!

They are always better on tap!

Golden Anniversary…..Whoops I just had a flashback when I was 19 and only had about $15 to spend for the weekend.

Pretty much anything from Sam Adams these days. I have my Summer Ale fix going on right now.

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Yeah, it definitely is nice to be able to afford quality beer, but sometimes it’s fun to drink the cheap stuff for old times sake.

Actually, I’ve become way less pretentious in my beer selection as I’ve gotten older. When I was younger, I was always trying something new. Now I think I may prefer old favorites like Pacifico.

My cousin, who works in the mental health field, likes to say, “I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy”….

I like that saying. I may have to start using it. I don’t know if I would call upgrading from Wiedemann to Budweiser pretentious [emoji14]. In college it was more about quantity I guess, now I just like a beer every now and again so the same money I used to scrape together for an 18 pack of long necks can go toward a six pack of something that tastes good.

Beer of choice for me is Amber Bock which is an Alaskan beer. I also enjoy Angry Orcherd beer as well as, Mikes Hard Lemonade. And on rare occasions, I will make a rum mixed drink, but I am not really into hard liquires, I don’t do shots. Last time I did a shot of Tequila, sucker knocked me right out lol

Tequila is the Damn devil! Now Amber Bock, that’s a good brew. I guess I never realized it was from Alaska.

Lol come on now… Maybe a demon, but not the devil. A $5 gallon of vodka is the devil. Now a good shot of Patron of Don Julio will wake you right up. But that’s once in a long blue moon. I l love my beer.

Ok so maybe tequila is just a jerk, but cheap vodka is the devil!

Have you tried Gentleman Jack? It’s pretty good stuff.

I used to drink Bud and I still will at a bar if that’s on tap. I do like my Richards Red, and even james ready 5.5
