Very awesome stuff man!
This is EPIC!

So, recently I bought the DWV902M vac (DWV012 in US) and did a little modification and removed the cord. I have the vac rack on there and I didn’t like the build in cord wrap. So I cut the cord altogether and added a Neutrik Powercon inlet on the vac and the right plug to the cord. Now I can store the cord together with the hose in the T-Stak case that sits on top.

I also thought the wheels could be a bit better… [emoji106]
With the front wheels I went from the standard 75x22mm to a whopping 75x40mm [emoji16] (really only needed them to level the vac with the new rear wheels)

Next up is to get the floor cleaning set and find a way to store them. Maybe in a T-Stak but I might add something to store the extensions on the back of the vac.

Maybe some orange flames in the side too????????
Cool stuff and I was looking at that Neutrik set up for a few of my non Festool tools I use a lot of, namely my Bosch ROS and Router.
Not a fan of flames but I might add an underside exhaust [emoji106]
And perhaps I ditch the T-Stak in favor of a racing seat [emoji16]
The Neutriks are great. Ofcourse you’ve already seen them on several mods on the FOG. And then make a plug-it to powercon cable?

Exactly! Would be a real convenience. Not necessary especially whereas I’m not a contractor but it would be nice. Not too expensive either.
Just like you said. They’re not expensive so you can always get a pair of plugs and try it before you convert other tools.
Think there should be a general topic dedicated to tool modifications.

I’ll bring that up to Conductor. That’s an AWESOME idea!Mr. Yellow wrote:

I am really liking what you have done with the wheels on the extractor!! The angle of the pic is just off so I cant tell for sure if that little black bit sticking out is a valve or not??? Are they air filled or solid rubber???
Yes, it’s a valve. They are air filled. It’s a bit hard to find decent solid wheels. At least I couldn’t find any.
I changed out the original axle and added a stainless threaded rod on which I bolted the wheels. Nothing was modified on the vac itself to mount them, so I can always go back, which I might, because I’m undecided if I keep it this way. But across sandy jobsites, this is better than the plastic wheels it came with.
I dunno, I just like to mess around a bit with my tools 🙂
keep the air filled tires much nicer, well done
Just upgraded my DCV582 cordless vac with Airlock connectivity.
Put the DWV9000 airlock connector on the hose and then used a DVW9130 adapter on which I mounted the original endpiece.
Only had to cut about 10mm from one end of the 9130 so it would fit inside the ‘hose end’ of the standard endpiece. Only took a little turn to the left to fasten it. Haven’t had to use any glue. That was a nice surprise 🙂

I’m going to need you to stop posting for a few months. My wallet can’t keep up. [emoji16]
You can always sell some of your Toughboxes [emoji16]

Its easy 25×25 SHS Steel drill a load of holes , weld it up , jobs a goodun

Cool to know. Now I gotta get some dewalt boxes one of these days. Im curious does the new stack radio work with the same kind of racking?
I can easily get the tubing, ill just put it in my cnc mill at work and plow the holes with a stub drill, would be fast and easy to make them all the same.
The radio does indeed fit 🙂[External image (images.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied]

I can get that tubing pretty easy. My cnc at work has a 60×40 table on it,would be easy to make all the same height etc.
The most simple set up I’ve seen mounting on a nice flat wall is 25×25 SHS with 5 mm holes in the back at 25mm centres , mounted on some 25mm ply spacers bolted to the wall
The van racks take a bit more thinking about , off the top of my head it’s 560mm to the out side edges of the bars

But it’s not hard to work out for the back of the box with 2 arms resting in there

Heck no!
I am finally getting my garage to a functional state and not just a 22×24 storage space.
I’m leaning towards the wall racking that was in the back of one of the concept videos.
My DCN660 felt very lonely. He wanted a little brother, but I got him a big brother instead [emoji16]

The wall racking from the concept video was really nice. Keeping it off the floor so it’s easier to clean underneath.

Just so I don’t have to buy $600 in Carrier Brackets, I’ll probably leave a bottom row or two on the floor and just float the rest. Then I can just pull out the bottom rows and blow out from behind it.

Come on don’t scrimp a few bucks at the last stage

I’m with Matt. If you go this far, those few brackets don’t make the difference. Think it will look nicer also when they are all floating.
It’s one of those things that will piss you off when you look at it or get a box out

And they all need to line up as well , no mixed lines of boxes please

Now you’re talking Matt. Gotta put some OCD and TLC in your ToughWall Ricky!
It’s the only way 🙂

Alright alright. It’ll be a while, but I’ll go that way.
Good man , you’ll thank us in the end 🙂

Anytime!
It’s been posted a few times but I’m sure it’s lost in the thousands of posts.
I have seen it before but never caught the wall storage.

Sometimes when I’m looking on Google for anything DeWALT, pictures of my van show up in the results 🙂
One time I noticed someone taking credit saying it was his’ on some website or messageboard. Couldn’t be bothered to register and deal with it. Just now I noticed a UK company called Oldham Van Centre is showing my van on their site under their ‘vehicle adaption & refurbishment’ category. Don’t like this kind of thing. It implies to visitors that they did the conversion while they didn’t so I kindly ask them to remove the picture. Have no problem with pics floating the internet, but I do have problems when people taking credit or such. Not on me.

I hate that, give credit where due, don’t steal another’s hard work, sorry to hear about that, some people I tell ya
I hate that Mr Yellow. I checked it out in their website still up. Van looks awesome though! Man….I should call Oldham Van Centre and see what they can do for me….;)
You should do that Chriss. Ask about that particular van they are showing and see if they have more detailed pictures and can give an estimate for something similar 😉
That’s a nice compressor I was thinking of buying that one here in the us
I think they discontinued the D55155. I would get the D55146 if I were in the States. That’s a nice wheeled compressor.
I got an email from the commercial director for Oldham Van Centre today. They took the picture down and changed it for one on which they actually did the conversion.
He confirmed their ‘marketing department’ took the picture from stock photos freely available on the internet. I don’t know. I don’t call any photo you can find on Google or the likes a stock photo. Anyway, he was kind and understanding so all good. Better for them too because advertizing with something you didn’t build can get you into some awkward situations.

Is that the DeWALT Owners Group? I’ve seen that pop up a few times…

This is why you will see people like Jimmy Diresta, Izzy Swan and a few others on youtube have their name plastered throughout their videos. They want the credit for their work.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy….it’s not great. It’s awesome!
