So it won’t stick out in the back
Corded 10 and 12 inch versions of these mitre saws also coming btw 🙂
From information I got it was a 305mm bl x2 mitre ? Photos are already floating around of the 7 and 9 bl x2 grinders

Ive been wondering if Makita is going to introduce new high-draw cells for their packs just like Metabo did with their LiHDs or Bosch with Eneracer. Kornomaniac, you must be the only person who can cast some light on this do you have any clue?
A compact 3ah with 20700 is in development. Something similar with a 9ah too, possibility vertical mounted cells to keep pack the same length across as current packs or they ain’t fitting x2 tools
Thanks Makita_2233 for great info! Hopefully these new battery packs will be compatible with recent line of X2 tools which were not designed to accept wider than existing packs. Vertically oriented cells sound like a clever way to get around this problem!

I could be wrong. Tho as far as I remember is was a cordless version of upcoming ls1019 ( with kapex style glide system)
You have a link to any picture ? I only saw a 3d render of the 9inch grinder in the PowerPoint I got shown yesterday 🙂
Pics please! 🙂
ow yeah ! Brushless X2 SDS plus which can use the dx02 HEPA vacuum unit is also coming 🙂
New 29cc handheld 4 stroke blower
And 2 new chainsaws. I believe it was 41 and 59 cc

From what I heard the compact 3ah won’t fit x2 tools

Ah thats true 🙂 The new mitre saws ( corded and cordless ) had real pictures of em so they cant be off long 🙂 If there’s real pictures the production process is getting along fine 😀
I have my rep coming in again not the following week but the week after. I’ll ask if i could take a peek again 🙂 Confiorm the size

Thats what I feared. Compact packs aren’t meant to be used in X2 tools but still.. 🙁
I wished they introduced the X2 brushless chainsaw when I bought my brushes version but I have to admit, I won’t buy another cordless chainsaw anytime soon. My Makita was getting some heavy use yesterday and I felled maybe 12-15 saplings to small trees yesterday with NOOOOO problems. I live that chainsaw and taking it into the woods on the back of my ATV is a piece of cake. No fuel, no noise and plenty of power for the smaller trees. I specifically remember posting a video a few years ago taking down a burning bush that was about 9″ in diameter of super wet, super dense, fibrous wood with no issues. I might consider getting a gas powered one next, I have about an acre of dense hardwoods that I have to partially clear starting the summer. Can’t wait to see what they release next!
Yeah the brushed chainsaw is quite impressive really. Not the fastest but it has shitloads of torque

That’s what impressive about my X2, it’s spins slow but the torque keeps it going through super dense wood.
Hoping this will drop soon:
Aha ! There’s the sync lock 😀
Combined 18v and 12v cxt charger is also coming. Was already a real picture so shouldn’t take too long 🙂
Ow yeah !
16gauge brad nailer and construction nailer ( like dewalts ) are also coming 🙂
Keep posting more good news!
Will the cordless trim router make it to EU this year?

Could be wrong but I’m sure I saw Q4 mentioned.
Indeed. I think in Belgium well get in t in September at the 40 year Makita Belgium 🙂

Nice new products coming from Makita…
I’d like to see them come out with higher capacity batteries to compete with Milwaukee’s high demand, and Dewalt’s Flexvolt stuff.. I really like Makita’s x2 system, and I think once they come out with larger batteries similar to the red and yellow ones being able to double those up will give Makita a bit of an edge.
Excited to see some of the stuff mentioned in this thread so far!

Doesn’t Makita have 6.0 batteries out now? stick 2 of them puppies on an x2 tool and you’ll get 36v power with 6.0 runtime. It’ll beat M18 HD 9.0’s and the Flexvolt 9.0/3.0’s

The 6.0ah they offer are 18650 battery cells that aren’t the greatest at handling high demand/discharge loads at that ah.
Makita needs to go to 20700 battery cells like Metabo, Bosch, DeWalt have. I expect at the Milwaukee NPS event this year they will release new 20700 cell batteries.

True for high demand 18v tools. Doesn’t matter ( at this moment ) for the X2 brushless tools ( which are competing against flexvolt)
The X2 brushless tools do not draw enough amperage to discharge too much from the 2 batteries. The X2 tools don’t really get hot, or quickly overheat. Far from it actually 🙂
So the lower discharge ratings of 18650 cells don’t matter on X2 brushless tools. Not an issue currently ( never know what the future brings )
So Jronman is correct. An X2 brushless tool with 2 6.0 amp batteries will outdo flexvolt.
Brushes X2 tools like the old rotary or the old circular saw… That’s something else 😀 but brushless X2 rotary is confirmed and coming. And we have the brushless rear handle saw out in America and making it’s way to other parts of the world in the next 6 months 🙂

That has been available here (downunder) for ages.
I wa about to go on a Makita spending spree, but with all those new options coming up I might have to hold back for a while…
Keep in mind these options are for the coming next year 🙂 they’re not all coming out within a few months ( unfortunatly 😀 )

Sorry ! Had a new look at the picture of the upcoming plunge saw today and it’s most definitely a X2 model. So 2 batteries 🙂

Any rough release date? I’d be very keen on both! Excited to see the rail design on the 10″ slider!
We’ll get the plunge saw in September in Belgium and there’s a good chance the mitre saw will be there also. 🙂
The rails will be above each other . Vertically to the left side of the saw head. The top rail will have a handle you can turn to mitre? the saw 🙂 like a kapex has

Thanks for the info. By construction nailer do you mean a framing nailer? I know they are called different things around the world. If so do you know if it was plastic or paper colated and what degree?
Thank you
I do mean a framing nailer yes 🙂 was trying to find the current English words 😀
There’s absolutely no info yet 🙂 if Makita is Abit smart it’ll take the same nails as their gas nailer. And those would be ( I think they are called ) clipped d-head nails on a paper strip ?
Any new plumbing tools??:D

Thank you again, English can be really confusing, in America we call them framing nailers, I am pretty sure that people in England an Australia call them “first fix”.
Hopefully they set it up to fire off set round head like the paslode or 21 degree full round heads. Clipped head nails are a code fail in much of the US.
Hope this comes by fall or sooner. Have a bunch of projects lined up that would be much easier if I dont have to bring out the compressor to remote locals. Hate to buy a Paslode if this is around the corner.
Thanks!

Pretty sure I remember the framing nailer to be Q1 2018. And things always take longer then first assumed so I would bet we won’t see it before Q2 2018. Sorry to disappoint 😀
Are clipped head nails not legal in the us ? 😀
I could see them having less holding power @kornomaniac
