Did you know eufy used to be a vacuum company? Anyway, eufy sold its first security camera in 2018 and now five years later the company has released its third generation of home security devices. eufy’s goal with this generation of security cameras and devices was to minimize monthly fees and subscription costs by allowing users to have better local storage.
You’ll notice that a lot of the devices mentioned today have their own integrated local storage, whether it be built-in or from an additional $10-$30 microSD card. However, these devices local storage and overall functionality can be further enhanced by pairing them with the new eufy HomeBase 3.
Benefits of eufy HomeBase 3
The main benefit of the eufy HomeBase 3 is that the local storage can be expanded up to 16 TB.
Alright, I get it. A lot of you are tool people. Are you familiar with gigabytes? Well 16 TB is equivalent to 16,000 GB. Still don’t get it? Well, that comes out to about 1,600 hours (more than 66 days) of continuous footage.
The eufy HomeBase 3 also has BionicMind™ AI which gives eufy cameras the ability to differentiate between family and strangers, recognize cars, and prevent annoying false alarms, such as tree branches blowing in the breeze.
In addition to these enhanced features, the eufy HomeBase 3 also provides basic but essential functions, like a soundbox for your eufy Doorbell to ring through. eufy does have cheaper alternatives for this function, but none offer the same upgrades to your home security products.
Also, I want to mention that the HomeBase 3 is not required with the other newly released eufy products. Again, each device has its own form of local storage, and users just need their smartphone to use the video and audio features.

eufy Home Security Value
eufy home security products are generally priced higher than similar products from competing brands and eufy subscription plans are priced in-line with other brands. However, eufy does want to save consumer’s money and protect their privacy at the same time. The value of eufy is in the local storage.
The plethora of local storage frees up consumers from needing a cloud-based storage subscription and saves them from the risks of cloud-based storage. A roundup of these risks include: unauthorized access, data loss, vulnerability to cyber attacks and security breaches. Also, local storage is easier for consumers to view footage and the footage belongs to the consumer alone.
All-in-all, upfront costs can be higher with eufy products compared to other brands, but over time compares and can be less than subscription-based security products and brands.
Final Review of eufy HomeBase 3 & Security Products
This third generation of home security products from eufy has a lot of great features. At this time we are still getting eufy products in and will be updating this article as we work with them. However, we see the definite benefit in these new items, plus most have easy wireless installation.
I think eufy products are great for those who don’t want to depend on cloud-based storage and subscription plans. I also see this appealing to consumers who have an aptitude for tech and prefer hard file storage. I am also just excited to see how this technology works as it evolves.
