DeWALT DCF630 Screwgun – Features
The DeWALT drywall gun features a brushless motor for longevity and longer run times. The bare tool weighs in at 2.27 lbs.
On the top of the tool, the belt clip is nice and large making it easy to put on and off your belt. The clip is long enough that it’s not going to fall off if you bump the tool while it’s hanging on your belt.
The nosecone offers grooves to help make changing depth easy, consistent, and accurate.
On top of the tool, there is an electronic mode selection that enables one-handed changing of the tool’s four modes, High speed (0-4,850 RPM), Low speed (0-3,300 RPM), PushStart mode, and Lock-on mode.
The nosecone is easy to remove when you need to change a bit or when you need more depth to remove a screw.
The LED light is on the base of the tool. While it isn’t perfect, the light does a nice job of illuminating the area where you are working.
DeWALT DCF630 Screwgun – Impression
Overall this has a comfortable-to-use design. The balance of the tool is great, which is important for drywall application for obvious reasons. The grip and the trigger work well together. And it doesn’t matter if you leave the screwgun on or just use the trigger for a couple of screws, your hand fits nicely around the rubber overmold.
Yes adjusting the nosecone for depth and the speed adjustment are both easy, but what really stands out is this screwgun is lightweight, compact, and is ergonomically designed.
DeWALT DCF630 Screwgun – Wrap up
DeWALT is known for their quality tools and this screwgun seems to be up to DeWALT’s standards. The tool is well-balanced and easy to work with. If you are already invested in the DeWALT 20V line and working with drywall, this is a great purchase.
