A Bosch compact drill/driver, do I need to say more? You want power, speed, comfort and balance, but hate the weight? This is the tool for you. All I can say is I am so excited Bosch came out with a compact drill/driver and compact hammer drill. Frankly I am sick of working with some of the bigger 18V drills. Don’t get me wrong I love the power, but seriously for most of the stuff I do, it’s overkill. Did I mention this is brushless?
Now before you start kicking me to the curb talking about how we need the big bad boys of the 18V, don’t worry. Bosch has no plans of removing their big, bad 18V tough drill. In fact, you will soon start to see more about their new full size line up coming out, which yes, I am excited for.
What We Like
- Compact size, but lots of power
- Great balance and feel
What We Don’t Like
- Soft case

Bosch DDS182-02 18-volt Brushless Compact Drill/Driver
Would love to see how this compares to the dewalt brushless and the updated m18 brushed compact.
Eric did you know that they have the compact & impact at Menards in an LBoxx, which is pretty cool. I had chance to feel them & try them at the lumber dept. if I didn’t have any compact drills or even any 12v’s I would consider this drill & it’s impact brother. I saw the LBoxx for the first time & I did like them, because they were setup to fit the tools, plus one for screws & bits. I was tempteted to buy, but I would need to include another drill to the rotation. I hope that I win one on their give away that is the only way 🙁 Laters TIA
LOL, that is good to know. I nknew Menards had Bosch tools, but not with the L-Boxx
