When it comes to a circular saw, there is only one real circular saw and that is the SKILSAW. SKILSAW is the saw that built America. The reason is they were the first portable circular saw and on top of that, they had the best drive system, the Worm Drive. While technology has changed over the years, the concept hasn’t. The worm drive is still the best circular saw design for power and performance. SKILSAW changed the game when they came out with the first 7-1/4″ cordless worm drive. Well, they just upped their game with the first cordless 10-1/4″ worm drive circular saw. Yes, as crazy as that sounds, they designed a 10-1/4″ circular saw for production. Let’s check out the SKILSAW 10-1/4″ cordless circular saw.

Let’s face it, time is money. When you are in the field and you want to set up a production station for cutting plywood or need to cut larger beams, you need a saw that will perform. When it comes to production, no other saw can compete with the SKILSAW. The worm drive is a gearing system that is designed for torque and you need torque for cutting beams and cutting through multiple sheets of plywood.
What’s even better than having a worm drive SKILSAW is having a worm drive SKILSAW that is cordless. As you know not all job sites have power. Sure some have generators but even so, they might not be available as they can be used somewhere else on the jobs site.

The SPTH70M-11 is designed around a brushless motor and all magnesium construction. One cool feature of this saw is that it responds to changing applications by boosting power and torque when needed.
The SKILSAW is powered by a 48V TRUEHVL battery. The battery is designed to dissipate heat which prolongs the life of the battery. Each battery cell is wrapped with Stay Cool technology that controls temperature while the battery monitors and optimizes each cell.
You can get a full charge on the battery in one hour.
Above is the heart of the saw, the Worm Drive. The Worm Drive is the best motor set up for a circular saw in regards to torque and power.
As noted above, the saw is a 10-1/4″ saw that does come with a blade. The saw can cut up to 2-3/4″ at a 45° angle and a whopping 3-11/16″ at a 90º angle. In regards to bevel cuts, you can cut from a 0º – 51º bevel cut.
