NHS Concept to Commerce reimagines nhs

Shark Bite

If you think trade shows are just about walking aisles and browsing finished products, NHS Concept to Commerce proves otherwise. This reimagined version of the National Hardware Show (est. 1945) is all about the full product journey—from early ideas to finished products ready for retail shelves. It’s where buyers, product developers, manufacturers, and brands come together to build what’s next.

Instead of focusing only on what’s already made, this show is designed to help people create, source, and launch products faster and smarter. Let us take you on a tour of the first NHS Concept to Commerce trade show.

How the National Hardware Show has Changed

For 80 years the National Hardware Show (NHS) provided a stage for the newest innovative products and technologies for the building & construction, power tool, outdoor living, smart home, and additional industries centered on improving daily living. However, the emphasis was on market-ready products and that’s just not how the industry operates anymore.

Products are expected to get to market faster with manufacturers jumping on technology still in development to ensure they are a part of each groundbreaking launch.

Enter NHS Concept to Commerce, where products and technology debut at their earliest stage, the idea phase. Inventors are connected to investors, manufacturers, private labelers and all the resources needed to develop through launch, and still showcase the market-ready products that the former NHS was known for.

In order to connect all these moving parts of product development the show was organized around how products actually get made today, not just how products are sold.

Instead of random booths, the space was broken into key areas that made it easier to connect the dots:

  • Inventor Pavilion & New Product Showcase – where early ideas and prototypes came to life.
  • Global Manufacturing & Private Label Pavilion – where sourcing, OEM, and production conversations happened.
  • Brand Pavilion – where established brands launched new, market-ready products.

NHS Concept to Commerce was more than just looking at products. You were having real conversations about how to build them, who to build them with, and how to bring them to market.

What Happened at NHS Concept to Commerce 2026

"The industry doesn't need another transactional trade show — it needs a better way to discover what's next and get to market quickly,"Hector Morfin Chong, Event Director with RX Global.

If there’s one way to sum up NHS Concept to Commerce 2026, it’s this: less browsing, more doing.

The show made a big shift toward getting the right people in the room. With the VIP and Hosted Buyer Program, exhibitors were meeting actual decision-makers—retail buyers, sourcing leaders, and product teams—not just foot traffic.

Another big theme: global sourcing. With manufacturers from the U.S., Vietnam, Mexico, and India, attendees had real options for private label manufacturing, sourcing strategies, and scaling production.

But the biggest shift was how people approached private label. It’s no longer just about lowering costs, it’s about building unique, differentiated products. And that’s exactly what this show encouraged: early, collaborative conversations between brands, developers, and manufacturers before anything even hits the shelf.

Bottom line: this wasn’t just a trade show. It was a working session for product development, sourcing, and retail innovation. NHS Concept to Commerce is setting the pace for what modern retail and product innovation events should look like.

How NHS Concept to Commerce Shifts the Manufacturing Industry

Manufacturing has changed so much since NHS debuted in 1945. Improved communication, faster trade resources, the invention of the internet, social media, and even national television shows such as Shark Tank have drastically improved the ability to source, design, and market products. Yet trade shows continued with the same format—until NHS Concept to Commerce.

Currently, this event is the singular hub that gets inventors, developers, brands, and marketers under the same roof with a platform designed around connecting them all. The air was full of excitement at the networking happenings. Attending this inaugural transformation of the already impactful NHS was inspiring to say the least and opens the door for the trade show platform to expand.

We have always been blown away by the display of products and technology, but I am looking forward to next year’s event, and seeing how other trade shows respond to this new format.
