Milwaukee Adjustable Bolt Cutter Review

A while back we reviewed the 14″ Milwaukee Bolt cutters, so if you read that review, then you are all ready familiar with these cutters as the only difference is the handles. If you didn’t have the pleasure of reading that incredible review, sit back and take a look at our Milwaukee Adjustable Bolt Cutter Review.

Milwaukee Adjustable Bolt Cutter Review Overview

Bolt cutters are one of those hand tools that not everyone needs, but for those who do, it’s a valuable tool to own. Bolt cutters make light work out of hard work. Anyone looking for bolt cutters knows you can get a small pair with short handles or a pair with longer handles. The primary difference being is the leverage you get with the larger handles over the smaller handles.

Milwaukee has a unique pair of cutters that allows the user to adjust the handle size to their application. So if you have the room and need the leverage, you can make the handles longer. If you’re in a tighter area, you can make the handles short and still be able to complete your task.

The best feature is the ability to adjust the length of the handles. Just turn the knob in the direction of the arrow and you can either pull or push to your desired length.

A user can use the handles in one of three predefined lengths.

We cut a couple different locks with these cutters. The biggest things, which isn’t surprising, is how much easier it was to cut the lock with the handles fully extended. While we could still cut the lock with the handles in the shortest position, having the option to extend the handles is key.

I like how easy it is to make the handles longer or shorter. Just turn the knob and pull or push. No screws or extra tools needed to make changes.

Milwaukee Adjustable Bolt Cutter Review Value

The Milwaukee adjustable bolt cutters retail for about $50 at The Home Depot. This is about a $20 premium to the 14″non-adjustable cutters. So if you don’t really need the adjustable option, the 14″non-adjustable is a much better buy. If you are in the position where you find yourself needing the flexibility, the extra $20 isn’t going to kill you and will help you in the long run.

Milwaukee Adjustable Bolt Cutter Review Final Thoughts

Bottomline, the Milwaukee adjustable bolt cutters are nice. The cutters are strong and built with quality in mind. I love how easy and quick it is to adjust the handles. In the end, these are a great pair of cutters. While it has a hefty price tag, the quality and simplicity are well worth it.
