Over the past couple of years, we have done a couple wild lighting products. We have shown you the Cube and the wireless LED color light bulb. As a side note, we still use the cube all the time. It’s great around the holidays or just chilling out. So today, we thought we would show you another lighting product that is also on Amazon. Today we are talking about the Loftek LED Floodlight. This isn’t just any floodlight, it’s a floodlight you can control the colors with a remote.
So what makes this floodlight so special? Simple, it’s a cool novelty item. Basically it’s a floodlight you can have outside your house. However instead of just having a white floodlight, this one will allow you to change colors using the included remote. Now according to Loftek, this has a lifespan of 50,000 hours. That would be equivalent to leaving it on 24 hours a day for the next 5.7 years. Since I feel like I have better things to do in my life, I am not going to test this claim and just take their word. As far as the light unit, it seems solid and seems well built. They use a temper glass which is under a die cast aluminum housing. So now on to the cool things about this light.
The remote allows the user to do a ton of things. First, you can set the traditional or standard colors with a single push of a button such as red, green, blue and white. However if you want to explore the world a little more and feel like a daredevil, you can go with a ton more colors like orange, lime, navy, coral, aqua, purple, gold, cyan, orchid, yellow, indigo and pink. Who says lighting can’t be fun? One item I really like about this light is on the remote, you can set a timer. The timer will automatically turn the light off after a certain amount of time. You can set the light to go off after either 3, 6, 9, or 12 hours.
Is this light for everyone? Heck no. For me, I think it’s pretty cool and my kids love it. I think for those people who like to have decorations outside, it’s a great option to add some light and change the color of the light to the holiday season. For the rest of the year, you can change it to white and use it as a normal floodlight. The unit and remote both seem to be quality and not some cheap throwaway product. As you can see on Amazon, it has some decent reviews. As far as longevity, only time will tell. The light comes with a 1 year warranty. For now I am going to kick back and enjoy the light show.
Does it have a black light mode? Florescent painted ghosts on a wall for Halloween would be pretty cool with a mode like that…
It has orange, but not the painted ghost. That would be cool.
