Hey gang

Seeing all of your awesome tools, I figured I would post my recent purchase.

Bought a set of Wiha Extra Heavy ‘s in the Microfinish.

I was concerned they might not balance well being heavier with the through-shafts, but they are very nice in the hand!

The little Stubby was not part of the set, but I had to have it…

Nice set of drivers! I’ve been eyeballing these Wiha drivers. If you put them to work soon, let us know how they hold up.

wildroamerMember since Apr 2016

Will do. Only used a few for some minor around the house stuff. Put a new stationary bike together.

Nice set! I’ve been thinking of picking those up myself, I think I’d like the microfinish more than I like the softfinish.

Nice set of driver!

The stubby is softfinish. They are both real nice, don’t think you could go wrong either way. I do see that in a greasy situation those microfinish drivers would be better. There is a slight grit to them.

FazzmanMember since Apr 2014

Nice choice man,I love my Wiha drivers. if I didnt already have a SnapOn set with bolsters I would own this set for sure.

wildroamerMember since Apr 2016

Just ordered a set of torx to go with it. Started to part out my Jeep today. Lots of torx heads.

Holy crap! No, I have that set of Wiha’s only, plus a few Wiha T-handles and the odd junker or two.

BMack37Member since Sep 2015

I probably have about the same amount but they’re stored in three different locations. These are just the PH2, all part of sets except the Klein, also not counting the HF set and all the misc singles and drivers scattered around. Though since this pic was taken I’ve added Wera Chiseldrivers and another set of Wera 334 SK/6. I also tend to pick up singles of the PH2s so I can replace the one from a set when it starts to get worn, have a few still in packaging:

Do you have a fave of those BMack?

FazzmanMember since Apr 2014

I have the Wiha torx set that goes up to T50 if I remember right. they are good torx drivers, torx type of fasteners are used alot in machine tools and my industrial applications.. same great wiha grips and good fastener fit.

T75RMember since Jan 2016

That is a very nice set of wihas. I’m about to get a set of the wera ones pretty soon

Not really, there are some that I like more than others but the favorites are neck and neck. I love the Felo grip, PB Swiss has a great texture on their grip but the handle is thin but the steel quality is AMAZING, Wera has the nicest tip design. Witte(Matco) also has a really comfortable grip but it holds dirt like crazy. Wiha has really nice tips too but I don’t love the SoftFinish. I don’t like the Snap-On at all. Tekton is great for the price(and made in the USA) but I wish the tips were finished a little bit better. Klein has a comfortable grip but rolls off of everything, the steel is nice but the tip doesn’t fit as well as the European screwdrivers. The ideal screwdriver for me would be Felo cushion grip with PB Swiss shank and Wera laser tips.

Though, let me be clear, even though I keep praising PB Swiss’ steel; all of the European screwdrivers have great steel and are top notch quality. The only USA screwdriver that I cannot vouch for the steel are the Tektons because I rarely use them…but being that they’re about the cost of the average Chinese screwdriver, I can still recommend them.

Which one is your favorite?and why? I have the snap on, Milwaukee and Dewalt set. I personally like the snap on the best for all day use and Milwaukee for beaters. I’m looking in to getting the wiha, Wera or klein for my tool bag.

One of the main reasons I got them! Can’t go wrong when most of the crew loves them

wildroamerMember since Apr 2016

Nice set, great price too. I looked at those before I opted for the Wiha’s. If I wasn’t looking for heavy duty might have gone that route.

T75RMember since Jan 2016

Wera makes a set of heavy duty ones as well. They’re yellow. I guess it’s how heavy duty you want them

Keep in mind that those do not have the laser tips. The green set with the hex bolsters(and shafts) does have the laser tips but no striking cap.

I’m so jealous of you guys and your German and Swiss screwdrivers I have 3 sets of snap on instincts in the more rare colors grey, yellow, and red white and blue and have some loose snappy hard handles in white, clear, black and orange and a set of violet torqs and 1 lone green and 1 pink instict . I have other sets of Klein and Milwaukee and pink matco wittes and have singles or pairs of Macs, matco, Napa wittes and craftsman pros .

My ratcheting screwdrivers are snap on is red bull racing colors, pink and green but have a black and gold craftsman pros. I have more lol I love to collect screwdrivers I have a couple wihas and a wear circuit tester screwdriver and my wittes is all the German I have. I’d like more but don’t know where I’d put them lol I already have a set of bel air blue snap ons coming heck all my snap on sets are still in the plastic.

I just use the loose ones as they are all good I use my old craftsman clear and blue drivers as beaters. Sorry for ramblings lol got alot.
