As I’m finishing up a couple of projects around the house. I desperately needed to round everything up and put everything away and organize everything. As I was collecting the horde, I figure I would post a glamour shot of the Porter Cable tools that I have and let them represent the other Porter Cable fans we have out there.
We have the fan base of Team Red, Team Yellow and Team Green but don’t forget about team Grey and Black or whatever color scheme they are trying to establish!. LOL

At first I wasn’t a fan of the design and color scheme of the PC but it has definitely grown on me. Great looking group of tools you’ve got there brother. Way to represent!

I like the color schemes of the PC as well, very distinctive, nice picture!
Their new toolbox looks pretty darn awesome.
Cool pic of the solders 99! They would look real nice in one of those PC tool boxes Bmack is talking bout 😉
Great set of tools !!!
Thanks!
For the most part I’m satisfied with the PC lineup. My only gripe is that the offering is stagnant. In comparison with Milwaukee and Dewalt that they offer multiple versiions of tools within the same battery platform. With PC it’s essentially that one tool and that’s it with no updates or expansion.
I went into Lowes the other day hoping too see the box but nothing yet.
The 52″ Husky is just about full. I’ve been thinking about grabbing a couple of the workbenches for additional storage.
I would imagine they might get some brushless drills and impacts one of these days

Thanks for posting bro,as many know I like Porter Cable. When i bought my first porter cable cordless drill around 15 years ago or so itwas a great drill for what i needed it for. It was 12v if I remember right and it came with 2.0 nicad batteries at the time.
That thing was a beast for its day,one time it fell off of a 12′ ladder bounced a few times on the concrete shop floor. To my surprise it still worked. When it died i had a hard time finding a PC drill that was as good. so it got upgraded to a Dewalt 14v.
Its been at least 5 or 6 years since I owned any dewalt cordless. I had one of the first lithium battery Dewalt compact drills for a while but it died. Thats when i started getting the PC 20v line. The line getting brushless im not keeping my hopes up for that, considering how long it took them to get a hammer drill in this line. Its not like they dont have the ability, being part of the B&D family, I think most of their emphasis is focused on improving the Dewalt tech to keep a competitive edge. Judging by the new Dewalt gen 2 stuff it seemslike they are doing nicely.
There is still a number of PC stuff im planning to get in time. I really like my PC corded circular saw,its a 15 amp beast.
If I could get one tool from PC it would be a 20v ratchet for when working in tight quarters
Tool look nice and priced right, just not a fan of their rubber on the grips
I saw the new PC toolbox today, I’m less thrilled with it now…It does have two handles in the lid, they’re cupped handles. The thing that disappointed me was the thinness of the drawer bottoms, I was expecting it to be a little more robust. The work space is at a decent height and has some useful lines and measurements on the top, it also locks open. To close the work space you pull to lever releases in the track, they’re the same levers you’d use to pull the drawer out.
No price marked on it or any of the toolboxes other than Kobalt.

Yea it was an okay looking box, nothing too special about it.

Very nice, I haven’t seen that one yet, is it cheaper than the Milwaukee and Dewalt?
The price point on this doesn’t make any sense. It’s going to be close to $700 with tax for a box that is smaller than the current offerings.
I’d go with Dewalt or Milwaukee. You can make your own work station, they literally used a thin drawer to make it…I’m sure if you’re creative enough you can keep some storage and make your own.
I’d buy an HF box before that

It doesn’t look bad, but for about the same money I would probably grab the Milwaukee.

Hopefully gonna be adding the milwaukee to my husky box this Black Friday if they have deals again :}

Agreed. For those that don’t know the HF toolboxes are not typical HF quality. HF tool boxes are some of the best tool boxes you can get from the common stores(Sears, HD, Lowe’s)

Husky are nice, but in all honesty, there are far more options in the HF brand of boxes or even Masterforce are very nice boxes.

Pretty sure I saw someone post a pic with the price of $250 on the top and bottom each. Making it a decent deal. None at my Lowes to give an honest opinion though.

Husky boxes are nice, not proto or Napa nice, but they are damn nice. They are also cheaper than HF. Never used a HF box……. Yet.

They run some decent sales though on their boxes, depending on the on you want
So I just ran in and checked out the PC box. It is like you took some corrugated roofing tin, welded it hot, collected the slag, and the slag made sweet sweet love to some ABS, their unholy love child is what this box is made out of. It honestly is a perfect mothers day gift if your wife or mother has a sewing room. It would be perfect for quilting and sewing supplies.

that bad huh?
If you haven’t checked out HF tool boxes, give them a look and check for the coupon price. The tool cart is the absolute best value in regard to quality and there’s nothing close.
I have Husky but if I was offered a straight up trade I’d do it without a second thought.
I’d give the PC a little more credit only because I’ve seen the current Craftsman toolboxes. The plastic lid handles on the PC feel cheap as hell. I did think the workspace was of nice quality for what it is.
I kind of like the Kobalt set, specifically the 27″ roller. Similar to the Husky but has a power strip and a better handle.

Okay it may have been an exaggeration but it for sure is homeowner grade. I really wanted to like it too because it is definitely one of the more visually appealing boxes I’ve come across.

I see that you also like rereading the classical literature of our day. Literally had it in my lap.
I was reading it today too haha

Yeah I gotcha. At work we call it, “go plant the @$%#@$%# %@$-$#”*## field or I’ll plant your @&%#$ six feet under it” Nah, I’m just kidding I have a very civil and polite work environment. Well within reason.

Same here! Some of there stuff is actually worth buying. Plus 20% off and some free items isn’t a bad deal either.
Sign up for the text alerts too. You get 25% off coupons all the time. I’m not an employee I swear. I don’t get payed to spam abouthem either, I should be though.
I bookmarked this link on my phone and just show the coupons I want to the cashier, normally it’s just the 20% off coupon.
http://www.harborfreight.com/digitalsavings.html
There’s also a site that sorts the HF coupons and removes them when they’re expired and only keeps the cheapest available coupon. I’ll have to look for it for you guys.
Edit: Found it http://www.hfqpdb.com/

Just saw this in Lowes today, on sale for $249.00 for each…
I figured that marked price wouldn’t hold up. Lowe’s has been doing this a lot lately, bringing in new product and giving it a high price point then almost immediately putting it on sale…trying the HF pricing model.
I’m going to look over there today need to run to HF for some socket rails I’ll swing in lowes across the street

wow ok for that price that’s not bad.. Not bad at all….hmmmmmm ? lol never mind I was just having a brain fart there I thought it was for both :/
Marked down here too.
I kinda like the Harbor Freight flyer, I believe a special flyer is coming out for Mothers Day Weekend with a 25% of coupon?
I have been eying up their Welding Table for a while now, might have to pick that up.
plus the HF store by me is absolutely pristine, it has to be the cleanest store I have been in… Love that place.. Lol,
