I was able to smoke a black and decker cordless drill very easily.

that was funny shit.. those daredevil bits are nasty tho def gotta be ready for those bad boys lol. cant believe it was that fast tho barely made it through first hole. def only select things u can buy from hf and u proved that is not one of them. nice vid u have a lot of good vids man keep it up

comp56Member since Sep 2014

so according to that video you managed to drill 2 1/2 holes successfully so my battery run time on my Milwaukees are not that bad after all, considering this is a corded model. So in saying that approx $8 a hole……… the price of the Milwaukee’s are cheap if you look at it the way I am……..

Jimbo you should replace sound track of the video to straight up music and take it back along with the drill and ask them what gives?….the box says you can drill metal, concrete or wood but it didn’t bother to mention 1 hole a piece…..lol

I’m not gonna lie guys It hurt to see a tool burn 🙁 lol! Nice video Jimbo and love the hysterical crazy laugh when it was smokin lol!

That was funny watching it from the periscope view too, it really had no chance.

HF has some real gems but their drills are terrible. The shop has a HF 18v, you can stop it in drill mode with your hand.

I’m sure the Chicago electric brands aren’t as easy to smoke… You might get 5 holes

But in all seriousness I didn’t think I was doing overly tasking things for this drill, I’ve put more exertion on.my cordless drills.

Your giving it too much credit BMack. We have one at my school and it can be stopped by looking at it too hard lol.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

I really thought that drill would have done better than that but it didn’t last any longer than a June frost. Did you even try it in hammer mode.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

The real question and the more I thought about it today the more it pissed me off… Why do they sell this shit who would even think it’s a good idea to sell this garbage that can’t even drill a 1/2″ hole and cedar is dense but it’s not really that hard of a wood. Total garbage and we all laugh and make fun of it and it was so much fun but I would like to meet the d&$khole that created this POS!!

Oh I know and they are worse than I thought

I was expecting a lot more too. I mean I think your Fuel M12 out performed that and it didn’t catch on fire!

I was looking at a 10.5 amp Dewalt I’d imagine it’s probably the same thing, been thinking about getting a good cordless drill.

FazzmanMember since Apr 2014

I have 2 Dewalt corded drills.  my older 3/8″ one model no. DW106 5.4 amps Ive had for around 15 years or so,comfy to use plenty of power for smaller stuff on the bench. My newer Dewalt corded 1/2″ drill model no. DWD210G 10 amps is a freakin beast and it plows thru stuff.

Always nice to have some good corded stuff.

What’s the specs of that drill? Sure doesn’t have the power of a Milwaukee boom drill (big bad D-handle) or a Makita 1/2″ beast. I’m pretty sure my lil M12 Fuel non-hammer model could smack that down. Maybe a non-Fuel too for that matter. I’ve never worried about drilling a little hole like that before.

I don’t think noops was commenting about your Dewalts Mike. I’d be pretty surprised if most of us did NOT own corded drills. I have two; one tiny B&D and a JCPenny hammer drill, obviously both are old and still work well.

huh? Did you mean corded? I’m going to assume you did, unless you decided to switch topics mid-sentance! Just checking…

It’s funny because there isn’t a lot of talk on corded drills, and I really don’t even know what’s available, but they are still a very useful item to have when there is higher demand application. Mine is a Milwaukee magnum drill that has been a real workhorse, but it has a different kind of chuck on it, you hold the chuck and run the drill and it “hammers” it tight onto the bit. What kind of chuck is that called? I can’t find any info on it…

As I was just saying in the chatroom, when I first joined and made my introduction thread, nobody gave a shit about my corded tools, even though they were Milwaukee, and even though I posted pictures of them. But as soon as I made a post about my 2604 purchase, all the sudden 20 + replies.

Funnier still, is once I got known on here, I reposted about all my corded tools, and now people love them. lol I dont’ claim to understand how the human mind works, all I know is, its funny stuff. Corded has every bit a place in this world that cordless does.

There’s still times where corded tools are better

Dano123Member since Feb 2016

I had a B&D corded hammer drill I used for years then I bought a HF hammerdrill last year. I bought a nice Milwaukee Magnum last week at an auction, I tested it but I haven’t used it yet. I want to find a rotary hammer, I am just waiting for one at an auction.

I have drilled a few 1/2″ holes in my concrete with the HF drill without any problems. It has done everything I need it to.

Which brand the drill master or Chicago electric?

Dano123Member since Feb 2016

Chicago, it’s maroon not black. Decent drill for under $30 with a coupon

The Chicago electric brand are their, higher end brand where their drill master brand is a smoke bomb lol.

I know most people clown HF, but I have had good luck with the tools I have bought there.  I know what to expect and they have held up.  I have a couple grinders(mostly used with cutoff wheels), the 10″ Miter (best $90 I ever spent), flux core welder(I have only used it once), the trim router (great tool for $20), recip saw and that hammer drill. I am sure I have others I am forgetting too. I also have quit a few of their air tools that have held up well. I will say their regular cheap air impacts suck, I have a Kobalt that does a decent job.

Yea depends what it is some stuff isn’t bad… just stay away from drill master lol

Dano123Member since Feb 2016

You know I think that router is drill master and I have rounded a lot of edges with it and trimmed the back paneling on a few shelves I built. I would say don’t expect much out of a drill that usually sells for 9.99 with a coupon…

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

Maybe a 1/8″ hole

I was asking about the HF specs. 4.2A… Wow. Most of that must be heat. I’ll have to see what my Red and Blue drills are. I think they’re closer to 10A.
