Enjoy!

Nice video man!

I loved making pocket holes for my kitchen cabinets, no better way to do it for quick solid assembly. I think I used the kreg jig where it stood up at 90degrees to your work bench, but it’s my friends so I don’t have an actual model number and it’s been too long to remember exactly. …

Nice video Jimbo. I’m a Kreg fan, I have the Micro and K4. I don’t know if would know how to fasten wood anymore without a pocket screw! I honestly probably over use them, but they sure are fun to make!

great video, probably the best product that started as a 4:00AM infomercial item…..

also coupled with one of these clamps is also nice to have

Does that clamp work well with the Kreg jigs?

Nice video! I have the K4 jig and love. Pocket screws come in so handy!

Mondo1310Member since Jun 2015

Nice video Jimbo. Gonna add this to my list with the auto max clamp.

BMack37Member since Sep 2015

I love the Kreg system, I might have to pick up the kit and clamp that was in Jimbo’s video. The bit collar measurement thing in the case is awesome, much nicer than using a tape measure.

tugnut1Member since Jan 2016

I had the K4 system and now I have the K5 and the Porter Cable pocket hole jig.  I like all three of the systems, but my go to right now is the Porter Cable model.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

Yea i hear the porter cable is superior to kreg, i was looking at it, so my question is do you still use kreg screws?

Good question Jimbo. Dan and Eric have one at the compound but haven’t gotten to it yet. John Miller also have one too.

Great video. I got the K3 or K4 master kit and I think the one you have looks way easier to use than what I have and I think you said it was like 1/3 the cost

Yea this is a nice small portable version that you clip to your work where he larger ones you clamp your work to the jig, but this thing is nothing without the auto max clamp, that thing isn’t cheap but has crazy holding power

DaveJr.Member since Nov 2015

If you decide to use an impact when drilling pocket holes, always check the set screw on the drill bit stop to make sure it doesn’t work itself loose. I learned that one the hard way. 😀

I’ll keep my impact away from kreg

I used to use my Milwaukee clamps but just got an automax and now I wish I would have got one a long time ago! Next I think I want the 90 degree Kreg clamp.

I never thought not to spin the drill fast when I was pulling out. Good tip.

Usually i don’t but with the reg it was uncharted territory

DaveJr.Member since Nov 2015

I actually broke the original bit that came with my K4 jig. I emailed Kreg and by the end of the week i had 3 bits in my mailbox. Excellent customer service!

They are a good company, did you see their new screw packaging?

Yea it looks sick. they lock together right?

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

Yes they do, clear, like 4 different sizes, clear labeling for materials

The labeling for what screws to use for what woods will be very helpful for beginners. When I first got my jig i bought the wrong screws

Not only that I’ve grabbed the wrong ones by accident, you could barely tell the difference at a quick glance, you get home, fu……..

Yup they all came in the same white box with a small label.

Nice job Jimbo. I’ve had my Kreg system for years and love it.

Yeah they tell you when you drill to work the bit in and out slightly to remove the chips, but definitely don’t remove the bit all the way while it is spinning. The drill guides are hardened steel and warranted, but those bits aren’t cheap.

I love my k4 I got not too long ago, don’t know how I ever built stuff without one. I finally bit the bullet when I decided to do a full kitchen install and needed to cobble together a bunch of pieces to make an island:

I pocket-holed the crap outta that thing 😉

BTW, I just figured out that Sears sells Kreg…which means probably a dozen or more times a year you get $10 off any Kreg item over $20. They have the Kreg R3 kit, screw kit and the face clamp at the same price as HD and Lowe’s.

My clamp is incoming(for $2.50 out of pocket!), probably will pick up the kit next!

Dano123Member since Feb 2016

I have the K4 plus the Kreg HD kit. I use them a lot

Eventually I want to get eh bigger reg set up and the kreg HD

Dano123Member since Feb 2016

I like the hd for my patio chairs. I used it yesterday to assemble my railing at my patio. [External image (uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied]

Yea the HD is better for larger dimension wood, using 2x construction

Dano123Member since Feb 2016

Yep. Plus the screws are coated for pt lumber so it works perfect for me.

That’s pretty much how I got into the kreg system, building my whole kitchen from scratch.

K5 is the new one. Just picked one up myself, really slick. I’ll post a pic tomorrow of it mounted on a piece of plywood for quick and easy use.

I don’t always use kreg screws, you just have to be careful not to blow your holes out by over driving

Dano123Member since Feb 2016

Yeah I may look for some that will fit. Still on my first box. I have used deck screws and misc screws for the regular holes
