Hi TIA and Crew
Today I have a review of the DeWalt Tough System Organizer DS100.
Price: $40
IP Rating: IP65
Tough Cart Compatible: Yes
Tough System Stackable: Yes
This organizer is part of the DeWalt Tough System line. Since it is part of the Tough System, it is interlocking with other units from the Tough System via the folding yellow wings. This organizer features a water seal, making it IP65 rated. (water resistant) The lid to this organizer is clear, which makes identifying the contents very easy. There are channels on the sides and a locking area on the back so you can slide this onto the Tough System cart and then lock it there. There is also an area near the handle if you choose to lock the lid. There are also some very strong, large, steel latches that hold the lid shut. The organizer comes with 12 bins: 4 large, and 8 small. The large bins can fit 1 large and 1 small DeWalt 20volt max batteries together. The small bins also happen to fit very nicely in the pocket of my tool belt. The lid of this organizer also features ridges to keep the bins where you put them and to keep your parts/pieces from coming out of the bins, no matter how much you shake it. This organizer is a bit heavier than others that I have used in the past, but with the extra weight, you get water resistance, rigidity, and security. If you are in the market for a sturdy, budget friendly, reliable, organizer, this is the one for you.

Good info buddy. And good pics. You’ll have to do the Milwaukee boxes. And I think there is a new set coming from Milwaukee.

Nice kit but I picked up a boat load of Milwaukee pro cases back when HD dropped the price, solid case for 20 bucks anywho nice write up!

Nice review mate! The metal locking clips look a lot stronger than some of the others I have used in the past with plastic clips that tend break off in the back of the truck.

Nice, maybe I’ll compare your thoughts on the dewalt jacket with my Milwaukee one. You have a way to measure temp to see how warm it gets? Like a k-type temp probe, I’m going to do that to mine out of curiositygeorge frontino wrote:

As of right now, i dont have a way to measure temperature. My dad might have a way that i can check the temp, but for now all i can say is that jacket is warmest on the high setting. Lol

Idk if it was a typo but the only model number I found it under was DWST08202
Great to see another young guy. 18 myself. Just you wait man another year and you’ll be ready to rock and roll, I was driving T800 Kenworths before I was seventeen. Just some friendly advice, if you regularly drive past the state patrol fueling station either put on a seatbelt or roll your window up. Having a suspended license is not worth it. My shop teacher gave me some advice about tools. You just have to buy one tool a month, even if its just an ¢88 screwdriver, and by the time you retire you’ll have a whole shop full. Little did he know that I’d get carried a way and go two tools a week or sometimes day.george frontino wrote:

Yeah I hear that. You whippersnappers haha. Man 18,I just turned 40,my kids are half your age hehe. My younger son is totally into tools and learning how to fix things.
I learned young too. Always worked in my grandpas shop when I could. Was driving stick shift at 8 yo in my grandpas old farm truck. Learned machining and fabrication young too, when I was a teenager I loved working on cars and bikes.
I am the oldest of 3….its me, my 10 year old sister, and my 8 year old brother and sadly neither of them share my interest in building or tools

Cool man,my daughter is about to turn 6 she seem interested but has a short attention span hehe. She does however like to help doing yardwork and such.my oldest son is 9,my younger son turns 8 on the 29th,he’s a leap year kid hehe.
That reminds me when riding with dad, he would push in the clutch and let me move the stick to the next gear, that was fun as a kid. Of course we got all the practice that we needed early on with farm tractors, the old Ford 4000 had the easiest clutch so that’s what we started with.Fazzman wrote:

I’m the second oldest, my one sister is the only other one interested in this like I am, she’s a real life farm girl, drives anything that has wheels, from the little 90cc quad to the Freightliner and flatbed, plus she’s single ha

not the puppy in my avitar…..
good review by the way…….for future reviews possibly mention something that you may not like about a product too…
like price and value, I honestly don’t think it is a great price and value at $40 A much better price would be $30 seeings other brands with very similar products can be purchased for less than $40 so in say that 4/5 for price and 4/5 for value.
note: I’m only saying this as you said you just started doing reviews you don’t want to sell your sell out by liking everything to the max because no matter how good a product is there usually something that can be mentioned so it isn’t perfect.
very very very good points. I will keep those in mind for my future reviewscomp56 wrote:

Great write up buddy. Looks like somebody is gunnin’ to be a writer for TIA;)
Great write up,, I gotta get more into the tough system one of these days
Nice review!! I need to add a few of these to my collection. Look perfect for building a custom fastener/tool cart up using other ToughSystem boxes. Thanks for posting!
Great review George! I actually recently got one of DeWalts tool box/organizers. They’re great
Great review, good to see young guys getting involved in tools.
Having both the DS300 and DS400 models, I snagged one of these Organizers at HD a couple days ago. I gotta say, I wasn’t as impressed as I had hoped to be.
I thought the plastic top seemed fairly flimsy, and really did not like that the wings must be flipped up in an irritating position to open or close the lid. I can see using it with top open and inadvertently knocking one of the tabs down. This would likely result in a broken lid when someone goes o close it.
At that price, I returned it yesterday and am still looking.
