M12 6.0ah battery spotted

Don’t see why not, the price on 3000mah cells has come down dramatically. Can’t be any more than 2000mah cells when the 2ah batts were released.

It just depends on whether the cells used in the 6ah battery (6 of) have a high enough discharge rate when there’s only three cells. Higher amp hour cells are easy to come by, it’s getting a good enough discharge rate that narrows their options.

I’m specifically talking about the lg hg2 and samsung 30q. They’ve come down in price a lot since they were released.

There was a feature on the 9.0ah battery in the UK Heavy Duty News but it just says coming soon.  I’ve been told it’s delayed here until August now.  No price yet for a single battery but they are doing a special kit deal of 2 x 9.0ah batteries, fast charger and kit box for £349.00 ex VAT.  Not sure what this price would be in the US but to me 349 is actually pretty good for this kit.

Milwaukee UK website doesn’t seem to be working tonight but as soon as it comes back up I’ll post a screenshot of the 9.0ah deal.

According to the german catalogue it’s priced at 109€

even at that the Canadian Dollar is crap right now and would cost north of $160 for

109€

Can’t look at exchange. What are XC4.0 and 2.0s selling at there. My guess would be the 4 gets bumped down and the 6 takes the 4 pricing.

I looked online for a 9.0 M18 battery and couldn’t find one, so I supposed they haven’t been released yet. Which is weird because I thought they were supposed to be released by now.

Whenever their SDS max rolls out the battery will be right behind it.

Those and 6.0 are coming out this summer according to Milwaukee Twitter. Initial announcement said January 2016 release.

don’t think everyone is gonna need a 9.0 battery…..4.0 and the 5.0 are pretty good as it is especially a DIYer cost will still be a big factor…..

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

I can see a 9.0 on my Sawzall or I can see a 9.0 on my 1/2″ impact if I’m pounding a lot of lags, now if they come out with a table and miter saw that’s where the 9.0 will be pretty good

Guess we will not only get M12 6.0ah batteries but compact 3.0ah too. Thats big news imo.

I can’t wait to see if they update the M12 Fuel. I like my M12 Fuel impact the drill is nice but its a little too big compared to the other 12v drills and even some 18/20v tools now.

must agree, i’m also proud owner of a m12 fuel impact. for a 12volt its just to big. my dtd 148 is way more compact and way more powerful

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

I’m liking the compact 3.0 that’s huge, I’m sure we will see some gen 2 m12 stuff

Honestly, you don’t need a 6.0 battery for a drill. I have the 4.0 and it will last all day. You really need the 6.0 batteries for the saws.

More capacity never hurts imo. I wouldn’t turn down a higher capacity battery for my m12 fuel and especially sds rotary hammer.

KnarlyCarlMember since Jan 2016

I wouldn’t turn down longer run times and quicker action anytime soon haha

This is pretty cool, there are some very viable uses for these two new developments

Yeah and considering the pack looks similar In size to the 4.0 it’s a win-win. Don’t forget he m12 platform has things like flashlights/lanterns, heated jackets and vacs that always could use more runtime imho.

Depends on what you’re drilling and how big the holes are. I will pick up some 3.0s for my sweaters, the 2.0 doesn’t last all day. 6.0 for hackzall. My drills are currently m18 only so I’ll only grab a new M12 Fuel drill if they go on a diet and have a more tangible size advantage over M18.

3.0 compact is more exciting than 6.0 XC imo.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

That 3.0 would be great for right angle drill, Palm nailer, ratchet, the slim body tools

Yes, and we can mix and match different sizes with different tools, accessorize and compare, check and recheck our options, but unlike the “stereotypical” woman, we jump into action with our tools, instead of looking in the mirror ten times to see if it looks right LOL..

And the best part is if you grab a 3 and really should have grabbed a 6, no one really cares and won’t nag at you for hours!

the 3.0 is very nice indeed. compact and it’ll last a day.
