here is some teaser picks for you guys… Just opened the box this thing is a beast, just an absolute massive tool that I can’t wait to use tomorrow. The metal housing has almost a gun metal finish, paired with a 5.0 it’s got some weight to it! I’ll have a video on it tomorrow!

Ok that is a tease. Where did you find it with the 5.0? Those things are awesome.

John GlasseyMember since Jan 2014

Your like me when I first got that matha. I just held it for the longest time. Not weird. I still like hold it when ever I use it. And I find all kinds of shit to loosen and tighten.

John I have it sitting next to my chair right now so if anybody comes in my house instead of grabbing my Remington 870, Im grabbing the beast and giving them a 700lb torque titty twister then just because Ill throw it in reverse and nut bust their nuts @ 1100 pounds.

John GlasseyMember since Jan 2014

Och! Dude you know how to hurt a guy lol. Then you can whack him in the head for good measure.

I was going to get the dewalt, thats the one I planned on getting, I had the older 889 and liked it but sold it to buy the newer one, but this was 50 bucks cheaper than I could find in yellow, so having my toes in the m18 line I figured why not. On paper they aren’t a whole lot different, thats why Id love to see a tool fight!

I hear you man. There is by no means anything wrong with going for less cash, that’s the only reason I have the yellow and not the red. From what the Milwaukee rep claims that red beast actually performs a lot higher in independent testing than advertised.
Daniel JulianMember since Dec 2015

Nice. I was thinking about one of those, but now with the possibility of nailers coming, I gotta save my cash.

I have had mine over a year now.Use it often on the farm.Do not know how I managed without it.

Its easier to do this…

Dewalt – DCF 886 – hacked with 3/8″ anvil

              DCF 887 – impact driver

              DCD 995 Hammer

              DCD 790 – Compact

Milwaukee m12 – Fuel hammer and impact driver – don’t know model #s

Milwaukee m18 – The Beast, and Gen 2 hammer on the way

Ridgid – Gen5x brushed hammer and stealth force

… too many to count lol

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Looks nice Jimbo. Seeing everyone else’s new tools makes me think I may just have to go buy something tomorrow!

Right now after everything I got I still like the dcd 790 the best, it’s small, powerful for its size and a great drill, now I haven’t got my hands on the gen 2 yet…

I’m curious how it compares to the 2701.

They have a newer version of the 790, the 791 with 30% more power.

Damn you!  Still don’t really know how it compares though, since Dewalt uses UWO instead of torque.

I’m sure if you google it someone did the math, the 650 uwo on the dcd 995 equals like 708 lbs per inch or something near there

I did a lot of searching on this subject, and the consensus is that these two terms do not measure the same thing.  So a direct comparison just using the numbers is meaningless.  I guess I’ll just have to get both and compare for myself.

No they don’t mean the same thing and dewalt is ambiguous on their drill torque ratings in terms of pounds of torque, I found the torque rating someone did on their flagship hammer and it was around the 700 mark, not sure why dewalt does this, if it’s less than Milwaukee it’s less than Milwaukee no need to be shady about it I still bought the drill lol.

Ahh sorry I misunderstood your post.  Dewalt claims that the rating they use is independent of drill RPM, while torque varies with RPM.  At least I believe that’s what I read.  This was a few weeks ago, and I’m surprised I remember that much.  Anyway, yeah, I’m sure I’ll end up with all of them, lol.

redmedMember since Dec 2014

Ha!  Jimbo is starting to come to the red side.

LoganMember since Jun 2015

That looks pretty awesome

unclebudMember since Dec 2015

This tool is on my short list. A couple of guys at work have these and they are truly a beast with 1100 ft lb’s of torque in reverse.

BremonMember since Dec 2014

These impacts are ridiculously powerful. Mode 2 doesn’t care about rust, road grime, or how tight a nut has been tightened…it’s coming off.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

Its nice to have the power of pneumatic in a cordless tool.
