I’m always interested to hear new music. I find it helps some of those long boring days to go by much quicker.

I have really wide ranging tastes, some of what I’m listening to these days.

Something mellow

I always enjoy a little AntiFolk music

Sorry, but you have posted more media files than you are allowed to

To be continued below….

Dubstep is a pretty wide ranging genre, that I sometimes enjoy. I haven’t gotten past most of the more popular stuff yet.

mellow

Darker

So, What are you listening to these days?

Very Cool ๐Ÿ™‚

Couple more you may enjoy.

Old Crow Medicine Shows song Wagon Wheel has just about become an country anthem in many areas.

Daniel Johnston is an acquired taste, he has influenced many musicians, here is his song True Love.

They did a documentary on his life called the Devil and Daniel Johnston, you could find it on YouTube.

I like a little bit of everything (except rap). I listen to everything from Lynard Skynard to U2, just depends on my mood. I tend to favor Classic Rock more than anything else though.

PutnamEcoMember since Mar 2012

Man, I’m getting old, I remember when it was just rock. I saw the original Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert. 1976 was a good year for concerts in Madison Square Garden. Got to see Ted Nugent and The Who as well. Good Times….

I’ve always enjoyed the Outlaws, perhaps a little more than Skynyrd.

I have always been a fan of the father of country/southern rock as well, Gram Parsons

I like everything except rap. Kind of into country for the last couple of years, but still love rock music.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Love the Who! I listen to a lot of country as well.

Well since were posting friends and family,

I wish I was more talented, the only thing I can play is the radio, and I get a lot of complaints that I can’t even play that right. ๐Ÿ˜›

Me singing with Mad Racket a few years ago.Doing a Rainbow track.

It always get me how hard it is to distinguish british lead singers from americans. They talk totally different but the sing about the same.

Eric – TIAMember since Jan 2010

That is so weird. I don’t understand it. It is always like that. I have also noticed it’s the same way with the news. You never hear a southern or eastern accent when I watch fox news or anything along that line.

PutnamEcoMember since Mar 2012

I really appreciate some of the hauntingly beautiful female vocals of classic country music.

Iris Dement

Tanya Tucker

I didn’t realise I sounded American? ๐Ÿ™‚

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Maybe American bands sound British? lol. But seriously, look at many off the famous British bands. They don’t sing the words in the same accent that they speak them. Sometimes you can tell, but a lot of times you’d never tell it just by listening to them.

I thought i would start this backup, as my headphones and cell phone are almost as important as my mower and string trimmer when i do lawns haha, music gets us through the day, and is almost like a tool in a way. What are you guys listening to??

Oh and heres my feeling on rap/ hip hop: its studio mangled shit, the “artists” have no talent, and have no class, but get crazy amounts of media attention, and crazyyyy amounts of money!!!!!! Well thats my feeling, and i stand behind that 100%, Im waiting on my farm club stciker for the truck(farmers against rap music.ย

ย

But anyways, i listen to southern rock and country, I cant stand the “new” country, almost getting into the rap/hiphop range…. My favorite band are Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman brothers… Country: Alan jackson is the man!!!!Love his new songhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe0CZxfS-fw also a big fan of craig morgan.

What are you guys listening to?

Music is a lot like candy, you need to throw the wrappers away :). I listen to country or classic rock myself.

The new country music is pretty bad I never been a fan of country music in general, but this video is hilarious.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WySgNm8qH-I

I will say they do get some hot ass girls in their music videos though.

For me the go to is Alternative Rock, Rock, I also can get in the mode to listen to some 80’s music like Depeche mode, Also I will listen to some Beastie Boys or some old school snoop dog it’s not much but if it comes on I’m ok with it. I go all over the place the only thing I’m not into is really heavy metal, country music, and most rap I have to say I’m not a huge southern rock fan either.

It all depends for me. My parent influence was classic rock, Eagles, CCW, J Giles Band etc. I lived with my grand parents after my folk’s messy divorce and listened to classical, big band, and early country Haggard, Jenings and best of all Cash. I also like grunge/alt like Nirvana, Heavy metal like Metallica and Disturbed, early rap Beasty Boys. 90s country like Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, and rodeo/western music like Chris LeDoux. So anything from Mozart to Metallica depending on my mood.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I listen to a little bit of everything except rap. I’m big on Skynard, CCR, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, and way too many others to list.

Rock and roll baby. George thorogood, ACDC, Metalica, Boston (of course) Aerosmith (of course) Led Zep, all the way to Folk and Coffee House. I do Like some country but not too much though. Remember boys we northerners have to repress that stuff!!! Rap and Hip Hop….well I have nothing intelligent to say about that except the old Beastie Boys and give it up for Boston’s Dropkick Murphy’s!!

We had some people over tonight and I introduced them to Southern Culture on the Skids

When I heard Shipping up to Boston in The Departed I thought it was Flogging Molly. I love that song.

I know it’s past due but this Christmas I have decided my two favorite Christmas songs are Dominick the Donkey and……Bob Marley’s Christmas in Maine! If your from the area that song is SO true! Laugh my lily white New England A$s off every time I hear it.

Hands down of any nation, The United Kingdom has the best music. I am American, but when I think of the music that I listened to the most, half of the bands are British.
