I have an M12 3/8 impact and the sockets fit extremely loose, only really being held on my the hog ring. Meaning I can slide the socket back and forth with ease when on the anvil. originally thought it was just my standard sockets so didn’t think to much about it but I picked up a cheap set of impact socket and it does it on those as well.
Anyone else have this issue? or is this common?
do you have a way to check the tolerances, with a dial indicator perhaps…..

I do have some calipers I will check it out thanks for the numbers
