I have an old compass one which works ok but never 100% satisfactory. This thing looks over-engineered but like it might actually work really well and consistently. Check it out….

Wow that is really cool. Nice little tool for scribing. Not cheap but looks quality. Sometimes you just have to pay for that.

if you do a lot of precise finishing work that is not expensive at all @ $75 I would bet it would pay for itself very quickly….I like it!

JerryNYMember since Jun 2015

I figured the color would be acceptable for you especially 😛

Turner85Member since Jun 2015

Nice, definitely come in useful

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

Nice Jerry, I remember seeing a video on this a year or so ago. It’s actually a pretty useful looking tool and the adjustable scribed I have would easily be outclassed by this thing!

It’s cool for sure. But there is just as good scribes for cheap on amazon. And a compass works good too.

Since the are in Victoria Australia I just sent them a e-mail to see if the ship to the US or if they have a distributor here.

Yes we do and delivery is free at the moment. Allow 7-10 business days for it to arrive.

That’s cool, I didn’t think about them being down under. Good to know.

Nice. It’ll be nice to hear a review… If I wait long enough for your order to come in that is. Free shipping and the upside of it being cheaper due to the exchange rate makes it an even better deal for something that looks like nice quality.

Just over $50 and free shipping… I’ll prob bite the bullet on that. I have a couple of projects it’ll come in handy for so I have all my excuses in order 😉

krutonMember since Jun 2015

It looks like a well made scribe.

unless you have used one of these pencils I would be cautious as I have the same pencils branded from Husky and they are cheaper!

Yeah I’ve checked those out Comp. I’m deeply invested in the PicaDry pencils. Love them. I have four and they are all over the shop. I didn’t need four but it ends up they get misplaced all the time. Even in Festool green.

Cool, thanks for the info. I’ve never see them before so it’ll be cheaper to look for the husky labeled ones.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

Yea I have the husky one and I was not impressed by it at all.

What does the pencil look like? Or what’s the name of it?

Comp above linked it with photos, looks like a rebadge of the husky one and it doesn’t look well liked so probably gonna pass on it.

I’ll second the Pica dry marker/pencil. I have 3 and have gotten most of the guys I work with to go out a buy them too. I believe they’re $15 at woodcraft and you can get a set of refills for about $12. 3 or 4 black and I think 2 or 3 each of red and yellow. Red and yellow work great on darker materials where you can’t really see the black.

Thanks for the info bud.
ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

If you do buy them, get them from the Toolnuts Festool page. Tether are $12 with free shipping, the refill packs are under 9 with free shipping.

Santi_78342Member since Jul 2015

Definitely get at least one! It makes a mark on everything I’ve tried and the built in sharpener on the green holder is great for when I need a finer line.

Santi_78342Member since Jul 2015

Just ordered the thingamejig

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Just got an email Santi, order is now on the way!

MillerzconstructionMember since Dec 2015

Has anybody got there scribes they ordered yet? Want to know what you think of it.

Millerz

Santi_78342Member since Jul 2015

I’ve recieved 3 emails so far. One that they recieved the order, one that the order is being processed, and one that its been completed. These guys sure love sending emails! Hopefully the next one tells me it shipped and has tracking info.

Did they give you tracking info that works yet Chris? Just wondering what the ETA is.

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Sometimes companies wear me out with all of the e-mail notifications about shipment. “The person filling your order just dropped a deuce.” Just let me know when it’s on the road. If it is on backorder then I don’t mind email about that.

as long as they don’t ship with DHL, rant” these guys are the worst shipping company going…….2 day overseas shipping pay extra for it and they get the parcel to north America within the two day alright but 7 days to get across the country…….9 day total and they say it hit mainland in 2 days after that not in their control?……stupid stupid stupid…”rant over….

JerryNYMember since Jun 2015

I don’t know about DHL but for me good ole’ USPS is the worst by far. Half the time my postal guy marks packages as delivered and then drops them off a week later at his convenience. I usually end up calling up and trying to explain that just because he marks my packages as delivered to knock off early it doesn’t mean he actually delivered them.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

DHL is the worse, they call for delivery windows and if they don’t work your shit out of luck and they send it back.
