I have been in the power tool repair business for 50+ years. I recently replaced the batteries on 2 of my Hitachi 14.4v. drills with 1.5Ah #BCL1415 batteries. Since Panasonic came out with the battery drills many years ago, I have used cheap, good and great batteries. These batteries are an embarassment to Hitachi. They are even worse than the NiCads they replaced. Worse batteries I have ever seen.
Interesting. Wasn’t aware they were having problems with their batteries. Thanks for the heads up and something to keep an eye on.
I have had the older 18v lithium ion batteries for 5 years or so and they are still going strong 🙂
