What is going on with the new 20 volt system? Are they coming out with any new tools? Saw the review you guys did. Who is that new bozo you have Dan? What’s up with him. When is dewalt coming out with a radio, grinder or other useful tools.

Who knows. I think they will hit the market hard since their 12 v line is non exsistant.

Not sure when they are coming out with anything new. One good place to check is Dewalt Owners Group. They know everything about Dewalt.

They announced it months ago with a release date of spring 2013. DCR015 is the model number…

Well they delayed the release of the cordless framing nailer in the us market till 2014. I just don’t get why Dewalt is taking so long releasing tools their 18/20v lineup it’s the the smallest in the market. I was going to say I’m glad I don’t own any stanley black and decker stock, but it’s doing pretty good so guess I could be wrong about everything.

I’m a little confused why they keep releasing stuff in Europe first. I expect that from Bosch, but not Dewalt.

Yea, I dunno either for being the only American owned major power too company left . The only thing I can think of it’s not their own design they just bought the rights sell it as a Dewalt. I dunno Dewalt’s product launches confuse me more than anything. Look at the Jobsite radio for the 20v max tools.

I’m starting to think Stanley/B&D themselves is part of the problem. Any company that gets that big and has that many brands under their belt is bound to be screwed up.

Yea I think that merger really messed things up regarding product lines and R&D.

Dewalt have to bring a good or if not better radio than makita and bosch as they are really good quality radios in the past dewalt a radio has been very, poor sound quality , makitas dab is a very good radio ! And if you have makita tools then I’d go for the Mikita radio as it is very good sound quality it really is ! Bosch radio has a sub and sounds a bit better than the makita but is double the price at £220 so for me makita radio is the best on the market at the minute hope dewalt bring a better radio as I just started to invest in all the dewalt xr tools and batteries

Even though black and deck which is an American firm own dewalt which is based in Germany , they want to keep the association as Germany is associated with the best engineering in the world , dewalt has a large fan base in Europe I am one if them so they some times do release things early in Europe just like apple releases things in America before they are released to Europe .

nathan360Member since Apr 2013

Dewalt need a smaller compact radio that can fit into site boxes as it is to big , makitas dab radio for me is the best on the market at this moment in time , dewalt need to make it smaller and make it sound a lot better as it just sounds like a cheap radio , as an owner of xr lithium I would not buy dewalt a radio because I would rather go on ebay and find a cheaper makita radio as I have older batteries that will power the makitak radio, just hope dewalt listens to the people

Dewalt is not based in Germany. They are an American company and have been since their founding in the 1920’s. They were sold to B&D in 1960 who in turn bought German manufacturer ELU in the early 1990’s and used some of ELU’s technology in their cordless line. Their HQ is in Towson, Maryland USA.

Thanks for clarifying conductor!!

As information, Dewalt was owned by another company from around 1950 until they were purchased by B&D in 1960. Don’t recall the name of the company though.
