I am curious as to what the gas and diesel prices are in your area. I’m in southeast Missouri ans gas is around $1.97 here and diesel is $2.27.
Around 2.50 give or take. Around Chicago it varies by the hour and what part of town your in. Usually add on about 30-40 cents in the city.
Hey Nicholas, has right now is about $2.30ish and Diesel is running about $2.50ish in my area.
About $3.05 a gallon which is pretty good for are area…..several months ago we were around $3.75 a gallon and if you go back a few years we broke $5.00 a gallon.
well I got ya all beat…$1.20 a Litre and you can times that by 4.33L for a gallon……our Canadian Gallon is larger the in the USA so times it by 3.78L to be same as USA
so we pay approx $4.53 for a US gallon and $5.19 for Canadian gallon
it hit $1.49 a litre just a few months ago……
Currently around £1.20 l it did go up to £1.50 l

In the Houston area I see anywhere from $1.85 to $1.90’s and diesel around $2.00 or a little over.
Southern Indiana has been around 2.40 to 2.50 for gas and diesel is about 2.20. About six months after I bought my Cummins, diesel prices jumped up and have stayed that way until about now. We actually run used cooking oil in some of our farm trucks as well as heat the big shop. If you haven’t smelled it, the exhaust actually smells kind of good. My uncle always jokes that he can tell when we are running it because all of the cats and fat girls that follow us on town!

Yeap I agree.
I use BP Ultimate diesel and today it was £1.16 per litre. I think it is like 70% tax on UK fuel??
When I lived in the states, I loved paying around $3 for a gallon.

Is that a gallon ? Or litre

That’s about 40 cents a gallon cheaper then California.
The last years it’s been around $ 2,6 per litre here in Norway. If we are to trust the media, it is the highest petrol prices in the world. No wonder we got the highest ratio of Tesla’s (and other EL cars too). 😛 in 2015, around 20 % of every new car bought is pure electric, or 1,5 % in total)
This year though, the local currency when down the drain becouse of the falling oil prices (Norway’s economy is heavily dictated by crude oil prices), so the conversion seems much better in USD ($ 1,89 pr. litre), even though the petrol and diesel prices is almost unchanged.
Diesel is usually around 9-10 % lower.
In Seattle it’s just about $3/gal, varies from 2.80-3.30 depending on the brand and the neighborhood. That’s for 92 octane. Usually it’s .20 less for 87 octane but I haven’t bought any in a while.
Here in Fort Worth tx $1.80 for regular and $2.05 for diesel
NO WAY?!?!? That’s super good!!Mondo1310 wrote:

I think we might hit $1.99 soon here in Michigan and possibly even lower as winter blend gas is cheaper than the summer gas.

Down to 2.65 at Costco yesterday when I filled up.
California doesn’t play by any understandable rules when it comes to the price of gas. Cost per barrel? Nope it doesn’t matter in California. They only care about ripping people off and making money.

Back in 2004, we had the worst gas prices ever recorded. Gas was almost 5 dollars per gallon here, I don’t know about the rest of America, or the world for that matter, but in Washington State, drivers converted to driving motercycles and scooters, it was the only economical way to drive. And the police started cracking down on motorists, it was almost like a manhunt, to bust as many illegal motorists as possible, even for the most miner of infractions. I guess they thought somehow new motorists were going to collaps the internet or something. Once gas prices went back down however, now people are back to driving their 5 mile per gallon gas guzzling monster trucks and SUV’s, guess their not worried about the gas prices no more.
I lost my truck to engine death over 5 years ago due to extreme age. The cost to having a vehicle, maintaining one, license, inssurance, tabs, is just too costly today. I realized if I tried to get another truck at the time, I would bankrupped myself. It forced me to alter how I live, learn to live within my means. Now, gas prices are not so much of a worry cause I only have to fill up for all my machines. I feel for those who have to drive 100 miles, or even 50 miles to work everyday, cause I know all too well that unless their vehicle is getting 30 miles to the gallon or more, they are seriously hurting at the pump.
Yep the whole west coast broke the 5 dollar mark….don’t remeber 2004 being that high, thought it was 2008 regardless it really sucked, I had 15 trucks for my business and they got filled 2-3 times a week 🙁

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s $2.46 for gas and $3.46 for diesel
I still can’t get my head around why diesel is more expensive than gas? I guess I also can’t get my head around how they can manufacture reasons to jack the prices up as well.

I don’t understand how people are willing to pay those crazy prices. If you want hot and sunny weather come to Florida the prices here are the complete opposite.

Here’s a pro, gas prices are down! Here’s a con, they will go right back up again. Its the same cycle year after year, nothing ever changes.

Yup, but the black market always goes up..lol
£1.14 for Diesel and £1.10 for petrol (gasoline) here in Fife, UK.
That would work out around £4.32 per US gallon or US$6.56/gallin for diesel and £4.17 or $6.33 /gallon for petrol( gasoline).
Geez, it’s $1.99 a gallon in Tampa, FL. It’s no wonder why Europeans love their 3 and 4 cylinder diesels.
Gas spiked back up here I saw it around 2.50 🙁
I just heard about it on the news Jason that it was climbing back up!! Sucks!!
Our gas went down a couple of cents but it hasn’t went up yet. When gas goes up it usually goes up about 10 cents at a time though.

It’s supply and demand. Our infrastructure is designed around freight which runs nearly entirely on diesel, and by our…I mean worldwide, China, Europe, India, and the US top the list. Since the volumes required are higher and in more demand, the price stays higher. It’s also taxed $.06 higher than gasoline per gallon. The shift to low sulfur diesel also increased distribution and production cost.
Speaking of gas here is a funning story….It was a spit milk out my nose moment. I swear this is true and just saw it on the news, there was a guy at a gas station pumping gas and there was a spider crawling next to the gas cap so this idiot takes his lighter and lights the spider on fire, you can guess what happen next…..flames everywhere, luckly no one was hurt….the gas station attendent came out to put the flames out…..amazing how stupid people can be.

Did you see the story last week about the lady that jumped out of a moving car(with her son in the back seat) because she saw a spider? hahaha

Don’t know what EIA is, been looking into buying a diesel for a couple years to replace my old gasser so I’m well versed in the economics of fuel, mostly from influence of OPEC, domestic production, and so on.
My conclusion is I’m still too broke to change yet. ::) Hope the gasser makes it another year or two. Upfront cost of diesel motors is still pretty rapey. Don’t know what to do…
They have some pretty good info on the economics of fuel. Not a bad site to check out if you are interested in that kind of stuff.Hugh Jass wrote:

I drive an 04 Dodge with the Cummins, to buy that same truck today almost made me choke when I called the dealership about a new one. Looks like I’ll be putting a few more miles on it before I upgrade!
