I would have just assumed they would have taken the steps you did to at the very least check some other stores for inventory. At the end of the day you have an awesome tool chest and I am definitely jealous. There were some other threads on here talking about why it was such a limited release. I wonder if they were just testing the water to see how it was received. If I had to guess it went over very well!scutzi128 wrote:
Yea…I’m not really sure what they could have done about it considering very few stores have stock. I don’t understand how these things are so hard to get a hold of. I would think they would want to keep these in stores considering how well they seemed to sell.

I put one of these on my xmas list but I may have to end up picking it up myself 😀

Would love to have one of these bad boys

It looks like they are starting to come back in stock. My area has a lot more stock then they have had in the past.
Actually, the funny thing is that the only local HD store that doesn’t have any is the one across the street from Milwaukee’s headquarters.

Hope they make thier way out west soon, maybe a road trip is in order ha ha….
won’t see the likes of these in my part any time soon….
I love mine and still getting it how I like it…
I always enjoy that part of getting a new toolbox. Rearranging everything and trying to figure out where you want everything. It’s fun to reorganize and make room so I can buy new tools too!

Oh darn it I have to put some on there. I thought about it too but I was so happy with my skilled application of the the Milwaukee stickers I forgot lol.

I second this, also I dare you.
I would do it in a heartbeat….
Ok remiedied the oversight of the TIA sticker. But spray painting the whole thing might be problematic because I’d have to empty all my foods out of it, move it outside to spray it and then move it back in and restock it. I think I’d rather save all that time and money keeping the food in there, and Mike’s black cherry hard lemonade, and put it towards more tools…like if Milwaukee would just shut up and take my money for a 10″ M18 miter already!!!
Also when I was having my water heater changed out the last week and the plumber was looking at the fridge strangely as if it came from another planet, I think a red Milwaukee fridge might have made his head asspolde so maybe painting it would be a good project in the future when I don’t have to worry about important ones like getting my baseboard heating all installed before it gets cold out 😛

After a few sixer’s of hard lemonade the paint project won’t seem so problematic 😀

Yeah those things are like drinking candy, hard to believe they have more alcohol than regular beer, almost double right?

Ha ha for sure…..the first six your fine, the second six you can’t remeber what planet your on LOL!
My local Home Depot is getting them back in stock. The employee who was arguing to get them back because other stores had them stated they will be regular products now. Also mine has them at the $700 price. He stated they don’t show on sale and should remain that price. They currently have a few tops in stock and am getting the bottoms in as well. Might get my hands on one by the end of the month for the big 30th bday. 🙂

Last week my HD had a few tops and bottoms on pallets still, every store I’ve been to has a few in stock.

JerryNY…..since your one of the few that have the Milwaukee box I was wondering the total height (both boxes stacked) measuring from the floor to the top of the canopy with the canopy opened…..Thanks.
I just measured and to the peak of the opened lid it looks like 6’6-3/8″. My basement floor is a bit uneven so I’d say 6’6.5″ to be safe 😉

Thanks so much…..oh the Bosh measure tool is nifty 🙂

thanks for that as well. I already have shelving in my garage and if I got one it would go under them. This helps me out a lot. thanks!
No problem, glad to help and even happier more people will have access to these great boxes!
JerryNY…..Was wondering if you could confirm a few more measurements.
I made a quick drawing, a side view and have measurement from floor to top lid that you provided, thanks for that….but need two more measurements, you’ll see in the drawing I have here…..also could you confirm the 15″1/2 inch I have on the right of the drawing. Thanks!
Hey that 15.5″ measurement is more like 15.75″ but the top is held up by struts so there is some play in it.
I tried to measure what I think you’re asking for. Here’s your drawing back and some photos of where I think you want the tape? Also that measurement from the deck of the top lidded compartment to the side rail is what you want. I measured with and without the mat, not sure what you wanted…

That’s awesome, exactly what I needed, much appreciated!!!……The reason for the measurements is my tool shed wall top plate is 68″” from the floor then the pitch starts for the roof and trying to determine how far I can open the canopy. Did some measuring and looks like the canopy top point can open to about 71-72″ measuring from the floor…..which is plenty, also was thinking of not installing the wheels as its not moving once placed and this will give me all the room I need. Again really apppreciate the help 🙂
No problem, remember too the cords have to exit the back so you don’t want to have it snugged up to the wall anyway. Included are cord brackets to wrap the cords around when wheeling the unit, you don’t have to install these, especially if you don’t intend to move it once set up, but they do add an inch or two to the clearance at the back…
FYI the casters add about 6.5″ overall…

Thanks for the additional info…..When I was figuring the measurements I allowed 5″ for the casters, 6.5″ is even better, allows me a smidge more clearance. I’ve had my finger on the buy button for the past hour LOL!
If you don’t plan on moving the box you could always leave the castors off.jbw55 wrote:

That’s the direction I’m leaning towards….I never move the boxes around after there placed so no casters is my best option.
Picked one of these up today. Haven’t gotten a chance to set it up yet.
