This is close hard to say.a real winner because the power on both and speed is crazy as you can see and if you read the description they were both pushing down hard on both drills to try and push them to the limits now remeber on instagram you can only put 15 sec videos so thats why you only get to see a short clip but its a great first look

[External image (images.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied][External image (images.tapatalk-cdn.com), not copied] some side by side pics me personally i like how the makita is bigger and beefyer but i know a lot of people are into a more slim compacter lighter drill for extensive use and as you can see the gen 2 fuel did a good job on slimming down there drill

I personally like the look of the makita but Id rather have something more compact hanging from my belt. It’s actually impressive that even if the gen2 only matches the makita that they got that power in a small size. Just as impressive as the power makita got in the compact td148.torontotoolman wrote:

One thing I hate about that makita drill is all that extra meat at the base, I know they had to put a battery indicator there but why is it so damn thick there. Looks funny.
And one thing I wish all tool makers would do is copy Milwaukee and put rubber over mold on their batteries. It’s amazing how nice it is to set it down on a countertop or hardwood floor and not worry about it scratching.
Ya i get what you are saying i personally like the size of the makita better and i like the bigger base im the oppisite and thing the milwaukee looks funny with the smaller base kinda like a body builder who forgets leg day lol i think the proportions match better on the makita but i dont have a drill attached to my belt all day so thats as far as my opinion goes i always have a heavy framing nailer so anything feels light compared to thatDarynH wrote:

Nice comparison. Both drills look super awesome both performance wise and cosmetics wise.
Agreed i think both drills will serve there purpose and then some with these 2 drills i think what ever you are looking for in a hammer drill driver you can find with eather one if you what a more compact power house that is lighter then the fuel gen 2 is for you if the size isnt and issue then the makita will be a perfect option or what ever plat form you are invested inbothuhead19 wrote:

These are head and shoulders above the rest right now, it’ll be interesting to see how the rest will respond. In the end, the real winners are us consumers!
You know I haven’t heard anything about the new hilti hammer drill/driver that was coming out. I seen a video of it at world of concrete but nothing since. It was said to have 1200inlbs. I’d like to see these three go at it
I didnt even know hilti was coming out with a new hammer drill driver i dont really follow hilti that wayDarynH wrote:

I don’t too much either but Dan and Eric were using it. They had good things to say about it. I remember a hilti guy hinting that you could get rid of your holehawg lol. It’s probably on their YouTubetorontotoolman wrote:

Oh yeah, forgot about that Hilti Hammer drill. The video I saw was pretty impressive, that thing was rippin’ into the wood.
From the specs it looks like hilti got the extra torque by just dropping the speed. Their specs could be understated though.
I hate the lump over the battery on the makita. Makes the battery hang off too far.

That’s what I hate. It adds almost an inch from bottom. That and no battery over mold. I don’t know why that hasn’t caught on

See for some reason i love that about the makita i just like how its all layed out i must be the only one or something but i like how the battery over hangs im not really feeling how the bottom of the milwaukee is layed out the more i look at it i dont like how the grip is far back to me it just doesnt “look” balanced well i could be wrong once its in hand but from what it looks like its just not proportioned propperlyjeffmcmillan wrote:

At least both are hanging on to the tool, not like in the impact video where the one using the Milwaukee couldn’t handle the tool, maybe just had too much power for him, LOL….
I think it may be time for some new friends! I’m the same way though. Luckily I inherited this addiction from my dad so I can always sit and shoot the shit about tools with him for hours. It’s been really cool.Bigmikez wrote:

Funny thing is both same guys using same tool same time also with milwaukee reps standing there watching for both test it was done at a milwaukee evant but ya i heard from a few people the milwaukee has a bad wobbleing problem both old and the new gen and i honestly trust this guys in the video for one i know the they are both pros and and staff memeber at the tool store i go to and the milwaukee reps were there so i dont think they would allow any funny businessjbw55 wrote:

Perhaps they should look for better pro’s or staff members to demostrate the tools as the guy in the impact video running the Milwaukee looked like an amature…..sorry but calling it as I see it.
Lol are you sure it’s not a bunch of your teal buddies feeding you BS? 😛 again, this hasn’t been my experience with any of my 3 Fuel impacts. Could be something potentially overstated like Makitas battery problems.torontotoolman wrote:

Ya well i can say the guy on thw bottom is great and he is actually an amazing carpentar but how can you jugde someone on a video when you never seen there actual work they might be better then you… i dont no that and you dont no that but they could be they did what they did how they did it not for guys to criticize how the guy is holding the drill but to show you the proformance of the drill seems like guys are looking at anything wrong to change the fact the the milwaukee lost and thats cool but its just one clip and i can say these guys are good guys so the fact that you are saying they arnt good enough is silly when you dont know who they are il say the guy posting the videos and controling the makita is a more experience carpenter then me i cant say for the other guy but if my buddy says hes a pro and good i believe him i have met the other guy who is useing the milwaukee befor at the shop but never seen his work so i canr comment but i take my buddys word for itjbw55 wrote:

No its not because none of these guys are strickly pro makita they love, use and own every brand they are trusted tool addicts and gerenral contractors who know what they are talking about the one thing i am suprised about is this forum has praised its self on being a crew and not attacking people but since iv posted these videos that show milwaukee taking some loses everybody seems a little butt hurt and have actually been attacking criticizeing people witch i thought was different about this forum so what makita won on some video clips i posted and so what makita beat out milwaukee on the tool fight like im sorry to rant but i feel like i have been standing up for these guys who are just tool lovers like use all and are just showing tool fightsBremon wrote:

I’m just bugging you TO, I know Makita makes some great tools.
I know man like i said sorry to rant on your comment just certain things kinda have set me off and i posted these videos for the tools not to start huge big ass debates bashing the people in the videos and what not i was just trying to show the new fuel gen 2s in action against really milwaukees only competiton in my eyes in the tool game i know these arr just the first clips and there will be longer more extensive or even more real reviews but this is just what i seen right now and i wanted to shareBremon wrote:

I know its all in good fun but I haven’t been the one posting Makita vs Milwaukee vids…..you must expect a little jab here and there. Anyway no disrespect to you or the others.
I understand theres gonna be jabs talk shit about the tools but honestly i feel makita is the only competiton for milwaukee visa versa but theres no reason to talk shit about the person or persons useing the tool and saying weather there not good enough or if they know what there talking about or if there pros or not i didnt post these for you guys to gudge the guys using the tools i posted them.so we can see the tools in action and gudge the tools from what i know these are really the first clips of the new gen 2 drills that hasnt been release by milwaukee them selve so i was just tryna show that…. but the first videos of the makita against the reagular fuel and dewalt thats was something different that was for my love of makita but with these gen 2 tools that was to show what these tools are working with how the look compare to the other big dog on the blockjbw55 wrote:
