i remember seeing a video review of this a while back. it is definitely a slick little drill. for light duty applications these modular tools make a lot of sense. it is so much more convenient to just carry different heads instead of entire tools. i always see the b&d matrix drill on sale and clearance around me, but that one has quite a few more attachments. matrix feels flimsy, which is why i imagine it’s always on sale, but i bet the milwaukee feels pretty solid.
The UK site is where I saw the drill Rees and it makes me wonder why they release certain tools only in the NA ,European,Asian etc markets.
Seems like more of a novelty to me, though I could be wrong.
Most tools are novelties for most trades. When you work inside a cabinet or other cramped spaces though that type of tool is a lifesaver.
Why not have dedicated tools for each function. The modular aspect of it makes it questionable to me. In my daily grind the more you take shit apart the more potential wear and tear on parts, etc.
Bosch has a similar one in the 18v line. I think the 12v line is the perfect size for this type of tool!

I agree more aimed at diy applications

Would be perfect for me when I’m assembling cabinets and such. Pretty much the best type of job for this type tool. I wouldn’t mind having that thing.
I bet this will make its way here ad a Fuel version of the tool in a year or so. I would be wrong though too!!

That’s what they probably should do though since FUEL is so popular here. Throw in a brushless motor and it would make so many woodworkers happy!

Bosch does too? well it makes sense since festool and metabo have quick release chucks . It does seem like a German thing.
The Bosch does it one better by offering a SDS adapter. http://www.bosch-professional.com/gb/en/gsr-18-v-ec-fc2-34967-ocs-p/
wow that Bosch would be perfect for someone who just wants one tool to do everything around the home. I wonder how much better that SDS adaptor is than your basic hammer drill? I’m assuming that it’s not sold in the NA market and sadly that to get one here would cost more in shipping than the tool itself. oh probably not if you are buying the full kit with sds, angle, offset etc etc since its 459 GBP which is $702
This is what I want…
. Oh heck yea BK!! I would love to add that to my m12 line I just can’t believe it’s not here yet?!BK13 wrote:

I’m pretty sure it’s a result of the the way us ‘muricans choose hand tool sizes versus the Euros… The European types tend to use 1/4″ and 1/2″ drive tools, skipping 3/8″ (for the most part), while us freedom-loving types use 3/8″ probably 80% of the time.
This would come in handy. I have no ideal why the UK gets all the cool stuff I like the black boxes and also they have a really cool mbox set maybe it’s call m100 box set not sure but look it up. The U.S. Market is chop liver.

It’s weird that everyone uses inches for the square drive size, even when the sockets are metric and in metric countries.
What kind of power does an M12 battery put out? I have a Ridgid 1/2″ impact and their smaller 18V batteries cut out when I use it for more than a second on a stuck nut.
