A special week for a 105 year old war hero

Great article honoring a true hero of our country, Laura Mallory, who was 1 of 2 or 3 African American women to work at Norfolk Navy Yard during WWII. Laura at the time was a welder and due to her small size (just like today) would work in all the tight holes and cavities of a ship. It’s not a lot of fun but it has to be done and at the end of the day you gain a lot of pride in doing the job.

It’s crazy how much stuff was made for WW2. Factories were built in record time, and factories large and small were building items for the war effort.
