I see the new m18 hammer drill available online at acme and home depot but I cannot find any in stores. My question is , is the new hammer drill out , if not does anyone have the release date. Acme has the old fuel hammer drill and impact on sale so the new ones must be close. Also does the impact driver come out along with it or do we have to wait until Sept to buy the kit? thanks.
I think they are going to be out soon I think the original eta was mid august.
thanks Jason, I wonder if the first batch will be one key compatible.
The Fuel and One Key brands don’t cross over. Tools that only Have One Key branding will be compatible so far. It might change in the future though
I think I read somewhere the first one key tools (besides the crimper) will come out 2016 earlyish.
2016? well that’s good, this way I can save my money for a few more months.
Haha yes..time to saveeee!!!!
January 2016 for One Key tools. September/October for regular gen2 tools for us Canadians.
haha yeah it would make a great belated christmas present to myself. Thanks Bremon, I’m a bit disappointed but just bought a new m12 fuel hammer drill to keep my insatiable hunger for new tools quenched for a while. My Dewalts need a mate lol.
I just seen HD on the product page say that they are going to ship on September 10th
Oh so the drills are a month behind than, I recall the drills were august and the impact is sept. That’s fine though because if I am going to buy one I’m going for both in a kit.The $250 sale on the current hammer drill and impact is hard to resist.
They said Aug 1 at the symposium. I was hoping to get mine last week but no show so far.
Home Depot shows it shipping September 10th.
ok thanks Jason, I recall them saying August for the drill and sept for the impact. They must have just pushed the drill back so they can offer the sets right away. Either that or they are waiting so they can implement one key right away just so people have that option at release.thanks for the replies and don’t worry Ricky I still love my Dewalt lol!
September 1 is what bcfasteners is showing for the 2754/2704 2 tool kit

Acme shows arriving soon but I don’t see a date. They sell the drill and the combo but not the impact alone.Thankfully the prices haven’t changed.

They sell the impact alone…..I have one on order along with the hammer drill / driver, bought them seperate. There hoping to be shipping in a few weeks or so.
Bcfasteners is showing in stock for 2704 and 2753 bare tool and 5.0 combos. Ordered my set today :). Also broke down on the fan (the significant other wants a fan, I said it should be red, she said sounds good).

congrats on the new toys….I can’t wait to get mine 🙂
congrats on the new Milwaukees, my local Acme never had them on the shelf this last weekend. The guy I was talking to never knew anything about them, but he never knows a darn thing it seems.Anyways enjoy the new tools Bremon, post some pics please and try not to snap your wrist off !
Thanks guys, I’ll definitely post pics. I never thought I’d be one of those guys who had backup drills. It’s a sickness.

Keep the gen 1 as a back up or as a second drill to use, many times I find my self using two drills with different bits, I find swapping bits a PITA sometimes…..plus it will look nice sitting on the tool bench ha,ha….
They’ve been delivered. They are sitting at home, and here I am working like a fool haha. Rest of my day is going to drag for sure.

Don’t you feel a cold coming on…..better take the rest of the day off.
I always feel like when I pull the trigger on new tools, they always have some sort of Promo like a month after or some sort of price drop. I think i’ll wait a little bit and see if something comes up in the near future.
I got my Gen2 Fuel impact in today!! The drill gets in sometime next week!!! I only got the chance to sink some screws in so far.
What do you think so far Jason? Thing is so light and well balanced.
Yea the small size is pretty crazy. The only thing that still blows my mind with Milwaukee is the poor led placement.
Yeah that’s fairly common on power tools though. The LED rings also seem prone to damage judging by some other impacts at work.
You would think by now the manufacturers would have taken care of that.Jasonc wrote:

I agree that the led rings are a target for damage. As much as I would like my light all the way around the tool, I would rather have one working light than 3 broken ones. I use my tools heavily everyday and the noise of my impact is pretty scuffed and banged up. So until they design a better way I’ll stick to a single led.Bremon wrote:
