Stop by my local HD and surprise found some dewalt tough boxes model ds400, the 🙂 boxes for $18 each, of course I bought the whole display, total of 4 boxes for $72 no taxes, good deal. Also seen they were selling the makita xt257m kits which normally $379-399 for $299.

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Great deal bigbear, I never find these deals. I would have done same thing.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

Dude nice buy Bigbear!! I’m with Chad I never get lucky with deals like that out here :/.. Congrats BB

austinthecityMember since Jul 2015

Me either… I must be going to the wrong HDs…

ankurMember since Jul 2015

wow, amazing deal. i’m in the atlanta area and rarely find good markdowns, certainly nothing like this. best i can hope to do is grab one of the good sales before they sell out!

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

I’m with you guys I never find those deals and never heard of such great deals til I joined the forum :/

BIGBEARJTMember since Oct 2014

Wai H. HoMember since Jul 2015

That’s a crazy deal, I have to pay more attention when I’m at the Depot for deals like that

Poisonfangs85Member since Feb 2015

Why the huge price drop? Not that I mind I just need my HD to do the same

I have the HD app, will the clearance price be displayed there if you search it or is it an in store thing?

Some Home Depots are clearance get them out yet a store 5 miles down the road is not. Defiantly a great deal, congrats on the great buy.

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

Why are they clearing them out is something else going to fill there spot?

SwaglosrevivalMember since Oct 2014

I can never find these deals you guys be talking about

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

I’m on the same boat, I came to the conclusion that it doesn’t exist for me 🙁

It’s a per store thing. Prices on HD.com or the app reflect their MSRP or normal selling price.

Poisonfangs85Member since Feb 2015

I need to find this deal by me I am dying to get some more at these prices.

My opinion is they want to promote the Ridgid line….they are at the end caps at all my local stores.

Even when HDs in the area were stocking the Tough System at full price they were difficult to locate in the stores

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

The Ridgid tube tool box thingy is very odd looking

its a bad design. Lots of poorly used space and hard to stack. They already dropped the price from $30 to $20 in my area.

Went to HD today and didn’t find anything 🙁

Yea, The Ridgid tool tube was kinda wierd. I never saw the point of it. The Ridgid modular cases are awesome though!!

Poisonfangs85Member since Feb 2015

Tried getting there today but the rain kept me in. I hope tomorrow brings better luck.

MikeyBMember since Dec 2014

I’m heading to the Depot today, maybe I’ll get lucky

ChrisMember since Jun 2015

Home Depot has really changed the way they operate since I left the company. When I worked there each store was kind of like it’s own entity, like we could decide what products we wanted to carry in store and what we didn’t. As far as mark downs went, we typically only determined damage product mark downs and the yellow tags would come out from corporate with either the regular or a reduced price. Now the managers and department heads could go into the computer and manually mark a product down to a lower price, which would reflect on the price tags when we printed them out. At my store they typically only did this when the product was slow moving to begin with and we just wanted it gone. A lot of it has to do with the store inventory and how the mark down will reflect on them.

The best example I can think of are live Christmas trees, because I worked in garden LOL. Well some of those trees die before anyone buys them, some people return them because they died in their home. As this happened, a lot of stores will go into their inventory and start adding up their losses. Well I would wait until December 26th because that’s when corporate would drop the price of every tree they sell to $1.00. So lets say after I threw all my trees away my inventory says I still have 30, I write 30 off and I’m out $30 in my inventory. The guy that did it before is out hundreds of dollars because he/she doesn’t know how to play the game.

That’s part of the reason some of you all get the deals, some of you don’t. A lot of it has to do with how that store chooses to play the game.

I’m realizing its certain HD I go to. The ones near me have a whole bunch of dewalt everywhere. But today I went in a HD in White Marsh, MD and its Makita heaven[emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji33]

Our HD is a mish-mash of stuff, no highlights or great displays, just a little of everything. It’s both nice and disappointing. You can look at the basics of every brand, but doesn’t go deep into any product line–except ryobi… hmm.

Our HD is pretty similar. We do have a pretty good offering from Mikwaukee though. Bosch is essentially non-existent there however.

I guess they do carry Bosch spade bits and jigsaw blades. They may actually have a Bosch grinder too, but for all intents and purposes they have no presence. Makita isn’t far behind either which is a shame since both brands are quality tools.

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

I love those spade bits!! But half the store is Ryobi tools..lol

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Surprisingly our Ryobi selection is not that big, Ridgid seems to have the bulk of the shelf space here.

It seems like nobody really likes Ridgid on here I could be wrong but there’s not much talk about them

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Maybe they just aren’t as vocal as the rest of the fanboys! [emoji16]

I think it’s just me and a couple others on here. The ridgid storage is a new release which is why there is a lot. They had a special for Memorial Day where if you bought the big and mid size storage you got the small storage free.

I think I remember seeing that special, did it come with a cart?

There are wheels on the on one of the boxes along with a handle. I think the Ridgid are nice. I just could not see putting my DeWalt tools in a Ridgid box like those Milwaukee guys have to do. Lol

checked my hd today and there were none left, although i doubt they were that cheap when the last one sold. we never have crazy deals like this, just too many people in my area. i did see a set at costco… 3 different boxes and the cart for $299. you grabbed a great deal.

RickyMcGrathMember since Oct 2014

I’ve been picking up some DS150’s for $0.01 each.

All full price or no stock around me….. 2 stores at a penny but no stock…lol

Not sure if I need any more or not… But I might try to price match some more as I decide on the new DeWalt cordless miter.

Good lord I have bought some stuff from them before for a penny, but you are the winner here. They might have said something if you didn’t use the self check out but they screwed up so oh well. I would have ran out the store after getting my receipt 🙂
