I would post it up on the TIA main page but tool companies can get mad about tool leaks.

Yeah, I remember that video that TIA did on the Milwaukee simposium. One of Dan’s friends posted a cropped picture of a tool on facebook or twitter, and then Milwaukee is like, you are hereby banned from ever coming to one of our events again. Its jeesus, take a chill pill Milwaukee!

What do they expect with all the cameras around I’m sure someone can post something by accident. He should have done a video of the tool and maybe he wouldn’t have gotten in trouble

Ryan, any release date for this? Thanks for the scoop!!

What the what?!  TIA’s got the ban hammer?

They allow cameras at the event, what did they think was gonna happen?!?

And at that point it free press…AND you can gauge the reaction to said press.

Weird.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I don’t think anything like that happened. I know something happened at the Dewalt even they filmed some tool but there was an embargoed tool in the background they just didn’t use that video.

PeteWMember since Aug 2014

i saw the picture today too, wow it looks really cool i hope it comes to the US.

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Man I would like something like this. Be nice to see one sometime in the near future but not holding my breath.

Niiiice!

Ok, I probably don’t need a cordeless mitre, but still, I got this weird tingling sensation that I MUST have it!

A single 18V sound way to weak and quickly drained, but brushless AND 2x 18V… Love that idea.

Haha, you just made fun of Dewalts miter saw

mtnkid85Member since Jun 2015

Looks fantastic, everyone said they wanted it but doubted it would ever happen.  Of course the obvious progression would being able to plug it in and run it off a cord as well as cordless!

Really excited, but any bets how long it takes to come state side?

dwainMember since Aug 2013

very sweet. Kornomaniac is going to very very excited. NER too…

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Well having one 36v Makita, I can say this actually looks really impressive. Nice find!

what about Makita 18V brushed, or Ryobi or Milwaukee or Metabo’s? Methinks you’ve got black and yellow blinkers on… 😉

Charles HarrisMember since Apr 2015

That looks like a great fit for the 18v X2 setup.

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

Amazing how far we’re come with battery tech 🙂

Very excited! This thing looks bad to the bone!! Can it de-throne my kapex though?!?! That’s gonna be a tough one. Maybe get it for a second saw 😉

SwaglosrevivalMember since Oct 2014

Man this is Great! A release date would be great.

marsh942Member since Jun 2015

Been told by a tool dealer in Melbourne CBD, Australia that it will be around Christmas time for this tool! Fingers crossed it’s true!

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

Unfortunatly it’s not a  10inch  🙁

SwaglosrevivalMember since Oct 2014

I hope so. That would be a nice saw to have

That sucks :/

PeteWMember since Aug 2014

he did say tho that the milwaukee m18 is a 10in saw so i cant wait for that to come out!

I’m not too bummed about that actually. The beauty of a cordless saw is portability and ease of setup. A 7 1/4 or 8″ saw will do 95% of what most people need and it is just that much lighter to carry around all the time.

I think I just got a bit more excited about it actually!

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

True that 🙂 most people will but this as a second mitre saw for 95 % of their task like you said Ner!

🙂

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

But bigger is better!!

Overall disappointing

Product information is up.

I think runtime and the better then corded speed in a compact light weight package are going to be it’s strong points.  Ideal as a second saw next to you 10 or 12 inch compound mitre which is overkill for alot of jobs.

mtnkid85Member since Jun 2015

Can anyone tell what its max cutting capacity against the fence is?  Is it only 2 1/16?

Hugh JassMember since Feb 2015

I thought this might blow Dewalt’s miter away, I’m thinking no.

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

It’s easily going to outperform dewalt in runtime / cutting speed/ cutting power.    But it does not have extra capacity.

Price w’ll have to see

I picked up the DeWalt 18V miter saw the other day and it is so handy. I sat it on the floor next to me and ran base and shoe and never had to get up. knocked that room out in no time. it had plenty of power and it made nice clean cuts.

AndrullMember since Apr 2015

A bit dissapointing they couldn’t get it to cut a 2-inch (48mm) thick board at 45 degree cut.

Which in fact, makitas own 36V circular saw can with the same 190mm blade.

(the US version is the exception, which uses the smaller 7-1/4, I don’t know why they did that?)

But yeah, the weight looks pretty low, especially considering it has two heavy batteries.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

That Makita looks pretty cool!

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

Yeah andrull. Rather dissappointed here 2.

Im really hoping they would announce a 10 incher also so they have a small petite one and a bigger cordless mitre.

One can only hope 🙂

bothuhead19Member since Jun 2015

Wow, looks spendy but of course everything is spendy when you’re broke… <_<

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

That looks like a really sweat saw. Battery is the wave of the future.

optimistspencerMember since Jul 2015

That’s my Makita right there!

I agree. What’s up with that blurry background! The saw looked nice though.. sounded good, seemed plenty touquie and had a nice blade brake… I would love to see a full review of the saw by itself..

Thanks for posting the video bee-man

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

James Mason had a periscope video on the saw. Very powerfull and 400+ cuts in 2 by 5 .

Batteries/motor barely warmed up ( which was a probleem with metabos cordless chip saw )

NERemodelingMember since Aug 2014

Is there anyway to still see that video or is is gone. I’m not up on this periscope stuff..

NERemodelingMember since Aug 2014

Korno, I think you made a post about makita 6ah batteries but when I try to open it it takes me to the TIA homepage.. not sure if there is something messed up with the post or if it’s only me having problems.

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

Something messed up with the post. For some reason it links back to an old 2013 post. I’ve asked jasonC moderator to remove it again ( the same thing happened this morning )

Very strange forum f*ckup 😀

All the post did was showing some info from makita australia . the 6 amp battery was announced 🙂

I’m still waiting on the fuel gauge 5ah and now they announce a 6ah. Seems my wait will be longer
