So you plug the cord into a battery pack! They may be on to something [emoji16]

I think it is a safety tether cause it has so much power…you lose control of it and the centrifugal force would have that thing spinning for days….

Kinda like a safety tether on a treadmill. Milwaukee should be writing these ideas down…pure gold baby!

Hrmm I don’t even know if my local hd carries corded Milwaukee drills anymore. I really don’t even pay attention to corded tools though either.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

every HD I have been in has them usually under a shelf or 15 feet up on a shelf but they have them

Eric – TIAMember since Jan 2010

LOL, that’s awesome

rfwjrMember since Jul 2014

Wow Milwaukee always thinking outside the box.  Gotta have one.

Innovation at its finest!! That thing is a beautie

I wish I would have seen this post before I saw the Milwaukee rep at the Home Despot today! I would have gone up and showed him the pic and acted super pumped about the new corded lithium ion line just yo see what he said.

that’s what you think……lol in fact that is what Milwaukee what’s you to think until they figure out how to keep it from flying out of people’s hands…..

if the rep is anything like the rep we have here locally at our HD’s he would stare at it for a few seconds and then say ….hmm I’ll have to look into this …..new to me?…….

krutonMember since Jun 2015

Comp I don’t know whether to laugh or cry about that.

I like how sleek and modern looking it is. I can see why they have that thick black security cable coming off the base of the handle because people would be too tempted to walk out of the store with them. Where does the battery go though ? 😛

No way!!! Lol. I think that’s kind of the joke about the thread.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

yes protoolnut, it is just a misplaced display tag, but with us tool addicts anything tool related  that just isn’t right we will run with it for some cheap humor…..

I will apologize for everyone’s comments about this just in case ….it was all in good fun…….

I don’t know man, Milwaukee is pretty innovative!

what …wait ….this for real? I’m never gonna miss a Milwaukee symposium ever again….

Ya think it’s brushless?!?

No man, brushless is too old school for a tool this cutting edge. I think they mave switched over to fission reactors.

There is so many mislabeled things at my HD I’m surprise the front sign doesn’t say Lowe’s

PROTOOLNUT wrote:

I can’t remember if my magnum drill is brushless or not. I guess we just need to look it up on the website to find out.

I don’t think it is.

Is anyone making brushless AC motors?

BremonMember since Dec 2014

I use some specialized equipment at work that uses brushless motors and is far from cordless, but it’s also $25k. In the corded drill space…I doubt it. No real reason to I wouldn’t think.

it must be brushless, this model doesn’t even have an armature….
chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

Better be careful that’s a magnum your holding in your hand.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Some of the Festools have brushless tools that run on AC power. What I gathered brushless motors are actually AC motors from AvE’s video on it

Cool!

Whatever he was doing was driving my dog CRAZY when the sound was playing.

And wasn’t the sound from an old NES video game?

Obviously the cord plugs into the battery. Sheesh, and you guys call yourselves professional. 😉

Also is the drill $8.98 or is that the battery pack? I think the main reason the battery cord is so long is so you can wrap it around your arm so you can control it a bit better. I’m not sure this drill is OSHA approved.

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

OSHA will now be inspecting battery cords after his post ;D

Justin HernandezMember since Apr 2015

PROTOOLNUT wrote:

Hell no this drill is not OSHA approved, thats cause some stupid ass HD staff member dissapproved it with the false advertising. And the more I think about it the more I think that this was done intentionally in order to grab attention. And look how big this thread is over it, mission accomplished. I’d love to fire the one who did it, cause this is complete herecy lol

HD knows how to do good advertisement

Next thing you know they are gonna come out with a battery powered corded drill![emoji6]

and here I thought the cord was just to charge it……quick yank and it goes in the handle like the hoover vacuum cleaners…..

Cool so instead of plugging into an outlet you plug it into the battery

I think comp56 hit on something accidentally that we haven’t thought about yet . Maybe that cord is the pull start for a small engine that runs the drill. Instead of that inconvenient changing of the battery, we can now just carry gas jugs around.

Maybe it’s a corded solar power saw.

LOL, You can’t run a saw off of solar power, well, you can, but then you will burn it out from over voltage. Now if you ran solar panels to a charge controller, then to a set of batteries, then had an inverter off the batteries, you could then run the saw off of solar reliably.

How about fission?

*phew* You had me worried for a second…seriously, how am I gonna tinker in the garage during the Zombie Apocalypse if solar’s not gonna power my gear?!
