Figured I’d start a thread to discuss anything that the guys broadcast on Periscope that people would like to discuss further. Especially if you’re watching a feed after it’s been broadcasted live.

Awesome idea Ricky. I just watch whenever I get a chance. It was pretty cool to see him down at the docks the other day. I just watched him change out a motor on the Frankenedger! <—Thanks to Goat for that name haha
Thanks man.
It’s also hard to keep up with the live broadcasts and type. Sometimes the topics change so fast, your comment gets lost.
I like it Ricky! I was only able to catch the periscope from outside the Milwaukee tent and only the last 5 mins. It took me forever to download and figure out how to use the dang thing.
Is there a way to go back and view past chats, or is it only live and not recorded?
Said frankenedger. Honda engine off a pressure washer on a craftsman edger.

Tonight was my first time watching periscope. I thought it was really cool!

The other problem is that chat takes up most of the space on my phone 🙁
Not crazy about the chat on periscope, watching live video is pretty cool though.
Man periscope is so freakin awesome I love it, it’s so cool that Dan and Eric let us into there homes and everyday lives i mean what other tool channel is doing this?! These guys are the best! I try and catch all of it but either I’m in the freezers and can’t get service or my boss is around lol! Great idea to start a post about it Ricky Thank u!!
Like most folks here I agree that the chat function sucks. I can’t type well on my phone and comments get lost in the nether. It’d be cool if we could all just talk or something.

I agree it is a little hard to type in periscope. It’s cool to see Dan is into guns as well.
I’ve always enjoyed shooting. I started competing about 4 or 5 years ago. It’s a blast.
Mr C Harris U ARE BADASS SIR!!!!!! That was awesome!!

Thanks, but there are a lot better than me. Classifications start at D then C, B, A, Master, and Grand Master. I’m an A class in limited and a B class in single stack and production divisions. It’s a lot of fun. I’ve been remodeling our house and haven’t had a lot of time for it recently. I plan to start back soon.
Here are a couple videos from a camera mounted on my safety glasses. It’s a little more interesting to see from my perspective.
This is a 9mm limited gun.
This is a 45 cal 1911 in Single Stack division.
very cool C Harris the first video is intense and ur making me wanna go shooting now.my uncle has a 45 1911 sig sauer that is beautiful to shoot very slim and comfortable and the accuracy is on that bebe is great, buying and collecting guns is hecka expensive but so much FUN! I haven’t been lookin much into guns lately but I can feel that itch now;)
I think Dan is getting a little frustrated with the Carv-X CNC Router. Having some issues with it the past 24 hours.
What Take are we on now? Lol I know he’ll get soon.
Poor guy, I think he used up that whole sheet of mdf

I know. I think he figured it out. He ordered some new bits. I think he was using high speed steel and MDF tears up steel bits. All the glue and binders is very tough material.
Hey Crew, Periscope is live right now in case your interested.
Filming Tool Talk
I would be stuck in a meeting and can’t watch any live video, but I can still hit the forum. Keep us posted!

It’s over. He said he’ll be on later tonight doing some cnc machining. Hope he has better success than what’s been happening lately.
It’s been pretty cool though, in case anyone has been missing it. Periscope is a live broadcast. You get to see a behind the scenes look into what kinda goes into the making of the shows.
Today we learned Eric is very gassy.
Maybe I’m glad I missed it.C Harris wrote:

Yes. We live in a great age. The year 2015, where technology has broadcast Eric’s fart through smart phone devices across the globe

I wonder if Dan got his new bits delivered today. He’s probably playing in the CNC now.

He did. Said several had already broke tonight on periscope.

Damn. I completely missed Periscope last night. Maybe I’ll watch the recorded show.
I got the day off today and was hoping Dan would periscope but hasn’t yet…..may u later anyway I think it was a good thing or else I wouldn’t have been able to work on my yard like I did 🙂
is this an app for your phone or can this be on desktop computer?
Comp u gotta make a Twitter account and get the periscope app u won’t be able to wright text on there without signing up for Twitter.
I never signed up for twitter and I can type on there. Could you see what I was typing the other day mike?
I’m sorry chad but u don’t remember:/ but when I first started I thought Dan was Ignoring me LOL!! I was like wth!! Then it asked me to sighn up through Twitter u did it and finally it worked next time Ille be watching out for u chad.NicholasShetley wrote:

I set up Periscope on my phone tonight, maybe I’ll catch a live broadcast sometime. I agreed to let it send me alerts, so I’m assuming if they do a show I’ll get some kinda notice.
I still don’t see the allure. I can see how it could be a new ballgame with media rights and all, but as a way to connect, I don’t get it yet.

I understand where you are coming from with that. Than again I’m the same guy that doesn’t really see the allure of Facebook, only reason I have an account is for work (I get emergency alerts). I guess for Facebook though, I have been able to reconnect with people that I have not seen in years. Now Twitter, I find that to be a complete waste of bandwidth.
The one good thing about social media are the people who hide behind it. I love getting face to face with social media/ e-mail and phone gangsters.
Yeah I don’t think it’s for everyone. I’ve got a twitter and a Facebook but I don’t really know how or why I use it. if i had a business, then I could see the appeal in getting your product known. Periscope is alright with me. I get the alert I my phone when it goes live. I’m at a desk all day so it’s easy for me to watch.

There is an app and a desktop site. My understanding is the desktop site doesn’t give fulfill functionality. Dan and Eric discuss the number of participants a lot and we usually have 10-20 mobile followers that interact but then they talk about how their reports show 100+ on previous broadcasts.
Alright, I must be getting old or something. I downloaded Periscope and was messing around with it and was kind of like wow, this is really awesome. So I told my brother and a few of my friends and they kind of looked at me like I was 2 years late to the party or something. Heck I was kind of proud of myself, thought I had something kind of hip and new going on, haha.
I guess the receding hair line should have been a sign.
Really I heard of it in passing Periscope but I didn’t think it was that well known. Unless they are into technology and social media then I could see it.
Have you figured it out yet? You have to add TIA in your periscope app. You will get a notification when they go live.PROTOOLNUT wrote:
Jees, I thought by visiting this old thread that it would contain some link or something to TIA periscope. I signed up with a Twitter account today and I got 0 clue on how to get to TIA periscope or anything. I’ve already missed far too many TIA live braudcasts, I don’t want to miss anymore cause it seems really cool.

I know on my phone which is an android OS the app does not need to be open to receive notifications. Not sure on the tablets man.PROTOOLNUT wrote:
Thankyou Kruton! My problem is that I didn’t even realize that the dam thing was an app! I thought Periscope was a site component of Twitter, and that I launched it from there. I learned to add Tools In Action to my Twitter account. And then I started up my android tablet and downloaded the periscope app and launched it, logged into my twitter, and made sure I was following TIA on my periscope app. According to the app settings, I should get notifications when TIA goes online, and when they start braudcasting. But do I have to have the Periscope app open in order to receive those notifications, or will it notify me even when the app is closed?

Its really cool that we can watch live, I don’t think anybody cares more about there fans then Dan and Eric do. They dedicate so much time to us poor Dan was on periscope during the Milwaukee event instead of having fun with everyone else. My devices do not support the app I’m watching you guys but I can’t comment :/
I couldn’t agree more, they are definitely all about the fans. That’s why I ordered some of their gear to help spread the word baby!Justin Hernandez wrote:

Temporary? Bring on the real tattoos! TIA until I’m DOA!Justin Hernandez wrote:

I chose the right day to join as well cause I witnissed something very interesting and thats all I will say on the matter. But it was good fun and hey got to see how good dans truck was lol. And I saw some tools in action related stuff that was great. And pat the mechanic is the most interesting person in the world, I love his stories!
