Several times recently I’ve needed larger sockets. A couple weeks back I needed a 1-1/4″ on my neighbors round bailer and I thought to myself “damn, what if I’d needed something bigger?”
I have s 1-1/2″ impact I keep for hitch balls, but my larger size selection needed some work. So, while at the barber shop of all places, I ran across this Proto 3/4″ set. A Salesman for MSC asked if anybody was into tools, one thing led to another, and I walked away with this unused 7/8″ – 1-1/2″ salesman sample for $150
Dang that’s a lot of high quality steel. I don’t know if I will ever need sockets that big though.
That is a steal Conductor! I need to get me a 3/4 socket set eventually.
It was ment to be for U conductor. Nice set!
Wow great find, she’s a beauty. Much better then my mis match of a 3/4″ set.
I would happily give 225 shipped for it, lol I know I am dreaming.
I’ve ran across some killer deals in my tool hoarding time, but this is the first at a barber shop, lol
Fletch: if I end up parting with it you’ll be the first person I get ahold of 😉
Geez Conductor, I’m at the barber every two weeks. Ask him to head up to NH next week will ya?
PTN: This is the smaller 3/4″ set that starts at 7/8″ and ends at
1-1/2″. It’s not every day I run into stuff that big, but I do on occasion.
2″ and 2-5/16″ trailer hitch balls take a 1-1/2″
I gained 4 sizes, 1-5/6″, 1-3/8″, 1-7/16″, and 1-1/2″
