So I ordered one of these when they launched at CPO and I still haven’t received my order, I think they’ve fudged up for it to have taken this long so I’m going to call tomorrow and ream some ass.
Anyone else get theirs yet? I haven’t heard anything on it in a while.
I didn’t even know they started shipping them yet. Thought it was preorder, but guess I am wrong
They were in stock initially at CPO and I think International Tool. They still show as in stock there.
ToolNut did that to me. Their site said “In Stock- Ships from manufacturer in 24-48 hours.” Then 4-5+ weeks later it shipped from ToolNut, not Dewalt. So I had to wait until DeWalt shipped to ToolNut then for them to ship to me.
If CPO does that I’ll cancel my order tomorrow.
So there’s finally a review up for this saw on HD, here it is:
“just got the saw in today . the saw is Great, but can not belive it only comes with one 3ah battery not too happy about that at all . you would think Dewalt would put a 4Ah or 5ah battery in it
I pointed out on this forum that the model number associated with the battery was 3ah, but someone here said that it wasn’t shipping with the 3ah but the 4ah and it was a misprint.
Seems I might have been right after all. Boo.
So what’s happening with yours? Are they being shipped yet?Hugh Jass wrote:

Pros: Accurate
Cons: only one battery”

I though they said at the Dewalt event it was shipping the 5.0ah packs. Hrmm I guess we need some clarification

Yeah that’s what I thought as well.
That will really be a bummer if they do offer it with the 3.0 especially with this tool being a long awaited one U would think they would offer they’re newest battery with there newest tools wth?!?

I don’t know, I’ve been so busy preparing for an upcoming trip to Anchorage I haven’t been able to call, they’re only open M-F.
CPO has finally shipped my order, christ…going on week 6 now. UPS tracking says it” be here in 3 days, which is rather impressive since it’s still in Ontario, Canada.
Anyone get theirs yet or get shipping confirmations?
Looking forward to a real world review from you brave souls….keep us posted

Here’s a great review that you guys should watch. Looks fantastic.

I just watched another review I’ll link below, he changed out the Dewalt blade for a Diablo and managed 202 cuts with the 4ah battery without stopping, which to me is unbelieveable. I know there was concern from some here about blade tooth rake angle catching the material, but he mentions in the comments that the blade is normal and not special as some had feared.
I can’t wait to try this baby out.
And I just ordered the dws780 yesterday
These videos have me rethinking going with a corded 12″.

I have one too, trust me you won’t regret it. This cordless is a very handy and valuable tool but the DWS780 is unmatched in the field for capacity and capability. I ran 7 1/4″ base in a 1500 sq ft house by myself yesterday with that saw and it had me grinning from ear to ear, it literally makes me a better carpenter. Yea this saw can do that but with a single bevel it would take twice as long with flipping the boards and transferring measurement marks from one side to the other. Had it been dual bevel somehow my opinion would change a little.
Right tool for the right job. We all need both in most of our professions or hobbies.
. Congrats Turner!! U won’t regret that purchase man!!Turner85 wrote:

If you could see the saw im replacing with the 780 you will know for sure I’m gonna love this. I’m replacing a 24year old Electra beckum, thing ways a ton. Could never lock it in half a degree of a positive stop or anything. I’ve never even owned a stand till this one I’m getting. I’ll be sure to let everyone know what I think on hereHugh Jass wrote:

Cheers Mike, should have Monday hopefully. And by not going with the Bosch I’ve enough to pay for my dch273 with the cost difference
Cool to hear!! Make sure to post pics man!
I was at Home Depot today and spotted the 20v miter saws up on top of the racks near the nailers. I looked around and didn’t see one on display yet. I guess a person could get someone to bring one down and purchase it now. I would be very tempted if I could plug some of my red batteries on it. I’m not looking to get into another line of batteries, but this and the new blower are tempting.
That’s what sucks no tool line has all the tools you want!!
I agree completely. While I am a fan of Bosch, I will never be a single brand guy. There are just some things certain brands do better and I would rather have the best tool for the job rather than the right color of tool for the job.DR99 wrote:

I was all about Team yellow from the beginning and now ive added quite a bit of Red to my arsenal with no regrets so far 😉
I was going to pick up the Bosch brushless 18v OMT now that Eric gave me the Bosch drill. That thing is expensive 229 dollars from the places I looked for the bare tool.
229$ for bare tool wow!!
Bare tools are no way to start out in to a battery platform. With Milwaukee buy a few kits with a free promo battery, or bare tool to get things started. The Fuel Sawzall is worth the 200 bucks it is such an awesome tool.

The place where I buy tools has a crazy promo going on right now. The M18 Fuel Sawzall with (2) 4.0 Batteries, charger and the sexy case for $199. That’s the same price as the bare tool. I think the normal price is $399.PROTOOLNUT wrote:
I agree, that is too much money! Thats why you don’t see me spending the same amount on the bare tool Milwaukee fuel sazall or 7 and 1/4 circular fuel saw either. A bare tool shouldn’t cost anything over 150 dollars, realistically thats all their worth! Think about it, the batteries cost what 60 bucks a pop right guys. OK, so take 150 + 60 and you got what 212? Then how much them chargers cost us what 40 bucks, maybe less? So that puts you at 232 bucks for a complete kit.
So the point is, I’d feel like a fool of I spent 230 bucks on a bare tool. Protoolnut has spoken 😉

That is a great deal, that is the next tool I’m getting and until then the corded one will do. HD just lowered their prices on the Milwaukee m18 line up and include an extra battery free…NaluRash wrote:

I spotted seven today. Three aisles over from tools.

Finally got this sucker yesterday. Haven’t unboxed it yet but looking forward to giving it a shot soon. Am I the first here to get this? I’m shocked if so because HD already has it in stock and all.
Depending on what you think of it I may be the second one on here to own one! I need to find out if it has the capacity to cut crown moulding. That would be the only thing keeping me from getting one.Hugh Jass wrote:

“Capacity to cut up to 3-5/8 in. nested crown and 3-1/2 in. base vertically, will cut 2 x 8 lying flat”
I guess I should have just gone to the website, but thank you for helping a lazy fellow tool junkie out! I guess I need to see what size crown moulding my wife wants in the rest of the house now. Looks like I may be going to Home Depot!Hugh Jass wrote:

My Home Depot had like 6 of them stacked up where they normally have the tool boxes and stuff
Saw one for the first time yesterday……looks like another solid DeWalt tool. Putting on the wish list!
I can’t believe we have to wait till next year for this saw to be available in Europe…
I saw these at Home Depot yesterday, sitting right there ready to take home. Wish it was in my budget
There is other laws in Europe we need to follow..
But it is tested right now..
