I was checking out the Fuel 1/4″ impact driver and noticed a new bare tool shown in the model options. 2757-20 1/4 hex impact driver w/ one key. The link is dead when clicked. Ill be curious to see what this new tech is.
Milwaukee is having their new product event next week. I don’t know what is about yet though. The impact does look different though
very interesting find! looking forward to their next gen stuff because their previous gen has far exceeded expectations!
Interesting. From what I know a lot of press got a weird USB thumb drive from Milwaukee with a cryptic message about this years symposium unlocking the future of power tools or something. Can’t quite recall, but I’m definitely curious. Hopefully more interesting than Dewalt Bluetooth batteries.
They made some big promises last year. They promised an m18 miter saw and two speed hole hog. Didn’t they move to a bigger building this year?
Deewlt is releasing some very nice tools so I can’t wait to c what milwaukee brings out!
I hope Milwaukee is going to roll out a bunch of new products. Can’t wait

Stuart over at ToolGuyd has an interesting post on this subject you guys may or may not have already seen.
I though the event was today, but it looks like they are having some events this evening and the majority of the stuff tomorrow. TIA is going to steam the event this year.
Looks like a wifi type symbol in the one key logo. Can’t wait until Eric and Dan can spill the beans.
Everyone has been strangely silent today. I’m wondering if Milwaukee is enforcing an NDA.
Yea no one posted anything from the keynote speech tonight. I think all the stuff will be on the Demo’s tomorrow. It will be cool with TIA hopefully live steaming the event.
I guess there’s a big secret that can’t be outed until August….

So they’ve taken the “one key” leaks off of the website (there were three on three different impact drivers). The branding was obvious at the base of the tools. And just cause I like to speculate, I’m guessing–if it’s not some sort of security feature, which seems most likely–it may be a branded method of charging. Perhaps wireless? Or it could be a means to restrict users with some sort of “key” that allows its bearer to use the tool (perhaps all there tools with one key).
Who knows? Hopefully we’ll know tomorrow. Its a pity they marketed the day for June 16, but gave us naught.
Honestly, while the security feature would be nice, I’d like more tool oriented innovation, not gimmicky tech (however useful).
I hope it isn’t just a wireless tag-out feature, although that will save me money. I’m seeing a few sources on twitter feeds say that they’ll tell us more about One Key in August. Tomorrow better be nonstop cordless goodness.
I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s news. So far I heard that there will be new compact brushless drills and drivers. Hopefully I can catch the live stream

Stuart said that there were over 80 new tools.http://toolguyd.com/give-me-fuel-give-me-fire-milwaukee-m18-fuel-refresh-teaser/
How many of those are just hand tools though :P. I’m here for the cordless news. Twitter feed for NPS15 pointing towards One Key being something to do with the Cloud.
Any word yet about what One Key? I’ve seen a bunch of new tools, a 9 amp hour battery, but nothing on One Key
I’ve seen several mentions saying “tell you more in August” which is hopefully not the case.
We can only cross our fingers for a leak.
The One Key is embargoed till August first.
Thanks for the info DR
So is he hinting that you can program the tool behave as you want it?
Maybe. It’s still quite vague really. A few teaspoons worth of gasoline to pour on our speculation fire.
any new news on the “one key” yet?
August 1 we will hear about it officially.
A little over a month of anticipation!!!
I was still really hoping for some dangum nailers!!!!!
did anyone else watch the tool talk TIA just posted this weekend? has something to do with Flux Capacitors? ill be honest and say I don’t know what they do and not sure how it affects things but obviously we shall find out in a month!
Flux capacitors help to unbalance E=MC^2 in stainless steel unibody transports so they can bend the laws of physics. It’s especially useful in providing a fish out of water experience so comedic hi-jinx can ensue. Not sure how they will be used in tools but they for sure will need that new 9.0 battery, or at least 1.21 giga watts.
ETA – once we get the flux capacitors though we will never need to wait for announcements about tools or anything, we can just spin an LED time/date dial and show up on launch day and get whatever.
oh I see what you did there, back to the future just rang a bell now a little late but I just needed a little help
I hope you didnt take it as too snarky but more just a good ribbing that I couldn’t resist doing to point out the movie reference without actually naming it 😉
I read it and as I was I thought god damn, I know what hes talking about but ill keep reading to see if its all fake mumbo jumbo or if the movie really was fact….
Sadly the flux capacitor is just a movie prop but believe it or not Lexus is working on a real life hover board. No joke, but I don’t know how practical liquid nitrogen cooled superconducting magnets and metal buried below the road surface is gonna be but sounds like fun…
dan and eric got me with that video of tool talk, great joke I guess wonder if it fooled anyone else. and I have seen the hover board thing for some time, looks neat, I have a truck so no need for the hover board really lol
So one month to go…
Well Milwaukee has a countdown now about One Key
Talk about building hype. Now I have to know, hopefully it is something pretty breakthrough, if not it’s gonna be a real let down. Knowing Milwaukee it most likely will be pretty good though.

Did they get excited and decide to push the launch up a bit? I thought it was supposed to be Aug 1st but that page says July 30th. It’s all fine by me if they want make us wait a couple days fewer 😉
I think the problem was August 1st is on a Saturday. Usually they want press releases during the business week the 30th gives websites time to write up posts and such.
August first is my anniversary. Not sure if we should celebrate the marriage or the big reveal. Tough choice.
Seeing all the Milwaukee sexyness might really get her engine runnin. Might work out pretty well for you [emoji6]Bmill25 wrote:

Makes sense. I do wonder if we’re gonna get some leaks before the embargo is lifted though.
Doubtful. Those new product symposiums look way too much fun to get blacklisted.
In any event July 30th can’t get here soon enough. This key thing has my curiosity piqued!
patience is key…… in this situation……
